PRO-REC Y SNA
I’m slatted for FY26 - SNA, I don’t have a specific date yet either.
Let's goooooooooo!!! Don't sign on for NFO if your heart is not 110% set on it. Do as much research on it as you can, and if you want to go for it, do it!! Congrats man!Just scored a 6/7/7 on my second attempt. My recruiter said I qualified for I-SEL for NFO. The next board for SNA isn’t until June 2025. The temptation to go NFO with you guys or wait for the board
Everybody apparently got results except supply, and even other designators are waiting to hear back from their CoC.I've had two squadron CO's and two XO's (one squadron, one carrier) tell me today that they couldn't see the results. Been losing my mind trying to find out because my CO is on leave. Anybody have a friendly recruiter that's able to help a brother out with a name check?!?!?! Drowning over here man. Active Duty is supposed to have the hookups but it's the complete opposite right now.
flight hours will not help you get selected, do well on the ASTB and make sure you have a good GPA.Fellas, I am 1.5 years out from college graduation, and I know it's about time to start putting a packet together for OCS and selection for SNA. I work full time and do online college so I don't have access to a ROTC unit unfortunately. I plan on getting some flight hours between now and graduation, but what else can I be doing to optimize my chances? How much longer should I wait before talking to a recruiter and getting a packet together? Any advice across the board would be greatly appreciated.
Focus on your GPA and ASTB. If you can, save money and hire a tutor. It’s worth the investment. Get involved as a leader in an organization. You have to wait until you’re a college senior.Fellas, I am 1.5 years out from college graduation, and I know it's about time to start putting a packet together for OCS and selection for SNA. cool thanks, didn't realize there were tutoring opportunities for the ASTB.Focus on your GPA and ASTB. If you can, save money and hire a tutor. It’s worth the investment. Get involved as a leader in an organization. You have to wait until you’re a college senior.
Also, the ASTB prep app will be your best friend.cool thanks, didn't realize there were tutoring opportunities for the ASTB.
Half way through your junior year is a good time to get the ball rolling. Flight hours won’t make or break your kit, but do express interest in the field. Go do a discovery flight cost $100-$150 (almost all flight schools have them), I’d recommend going and doing one of those over your winter break. You get a feel for flying and they’ll let you attempt to land the plane! Now’s a good time to start working on LORs (also not required but helps build a stronger packet). I’d recommend now you go in and talk to a recruiter if your goal is to graduate and go to OCS. I started halfway through my junior year, I did not get into OCS until 1.5 years after graduating… sometimes it’s timing that plays a factorFellas, I am 1.5 years out from college graduation, and I know it's about time to start putting a packet together for OCS and selection for SNA.
