Half way through your junior year is a good time to get the ball rolling. Flight hours won’t make or break your kit, but do express interest in the field. Go do a discovery flight cost $100-$150 (almost all flight schools have them), I’d recommend going and doing one of those over your winter break. You get a feel for flying and they’ll let you attempt to land the plane! Now’s a good time to start working on LORs (also not required but helps build a stronger packet). I’d recommend now you go in and talk to a recruiter if your goal is to graduate and go to OCS. I started halfway through my junior year, I did not get into OCS until 1.5 years after graduating… sometimes it’s timing that plays a factor
I gotcha, I am looking to graduate march of 26, so I'll be a senior in august, junior now. My goal is to ship out as quickly as possible once I graduate. I appreciate the advice.

Yeah I’d go in now, things really speed up your senior year, and sometimes depending on your kit you’ll be waiting months to hear back on something. Aviation is getting more competitive so score well on your ASTB, and get a solid GPA. What helped me the most with the ASTB is writing down topics people post about in 1,001 ASTB Q’s thread, then YouTube/PDF worksheet (college level) until I understood it. Kyle’s Drive is a gold mine as well! This site has everything you need to know for the ASTB

Yea i’m pretty much in your boat. Currently doing online school on the side and flying full time. I would get started on ASTB studying asap. It depends how much you think you need to study though. I had to spend a lot of time relearning math and such but it paid off. It is definitely challenging juggling all that stuff so if you can start crossing stuff off the list go for it.

Been lurking in this forum for a while, it’s been incredibly helpful. Looking forward to seeing my July OCS classmates. Good luck and behave between now and then.

Active duty you should all be able to verify on BOL at this point. Mine finally updated. I had to resort to calling a local officer recruiter earlier today to find out on my own lmao.
