I hear you’re saying and you make some good points but it’s difficult when we just don’t know what’s going on with selections for the next year or so. I’m only 24 but by the july board I’ll be 25 and that clock don’t stop ticking. If exNavyOffRec is still lurking, feel free to chime in and give a somewhat lost 24yr old some much needed advice on what to do with his “lucky” 7s, thank you.
I think you’ll most likely do just fine as long as you are very prepared. Are you only interested in flying? Let’s say hypothetically you do worse, are you okay with not flying and choosing a different designator? I think if the answer to that is yes, then retake for sure. But if you aren’t okay with doing something else, it’s a bigger consideration you have to make because you could set yourself back even further.

Hey man I decided to retry and I have a 61 7/7/6. I figure I *might* do worse on my OAR but I feel like since I now know how the test works and the sequencing for the PBM part, that score ought to improve, even if it costs me that 61 (which it might not)

got myself an x52 last week! A little worried about the emergency procedures and the math especially but let’s blow this out of the water! newport or bust!
To me the emergency procedures is the thing I would tell people to be the least worried about. Especially because you can preset everything and test the knobs before hand. Just make sure to write down the procedures carefully and you’ll be fine. I thought the listening was the most difficult part.

For those of yall who took the test a second time, are the questions harder? I've heard that they are, any truth to this?

No. It is the same test just different versions of questions. For obvious reasons it isn't going to be the exact same test twice. There are 3 different versions. It is adaptive. The better you do the harder the questions.

That's what I figured, just heard from some cats that the first test is the "easy" version and subsequent exams are "harder"

I wouldn't say that considering most people study for their next go and improve. I went in blind the first time got a 45 and shitty numbers to follow. Second time got the 56 6/6/6. So hopefully with even more study time and practice, (dont really care about oar score) i can score atleast 8's or better.

I always find these amusing, when you take the test for the first time you can get any one of the 3 version, if 3 people are taking it at the same time each will have a different version. There is no advantage.

How much/long did you study in between those attenps?

The test is adaptive, so if you study and perform better on your second try, it’ll get harder. Nothing tied to what # attempt you’re on.

What exactly does that mean? Three different question banks?
