I hear you’re saying and you make some good points but it’s difficult when we just don’t know what’s going on with selections for the next year or so. I’m only 24 but by the july board I’ll be 25 and that clock don’t stop ticking. If exNavyOffRec is still lurking, feel free to chime in and give a somewhat lost 24yr old some much needed advice on what to do with his “lucky” 7s, thank you.
I relate to you a lot from what you said on here. And I haven't even taken the ASTB yet! I just am old (24) and keep hearing about people waiting two-ish years to just ship to OCS and I start to wonder if any of it will work.

I’m taking the ASTB for the second time in a few days. One thing that I messed up on was the emergency procedures during the PBM. Instead of going 0% on E knob and 50% on I knob, I did it backwards. If I preset the knobs in their correct position before it asks me to but after the previous emergency, will it penalize me?

Was the Barron's book the only thing you used to study? I have an older Barron's book, but I'm looking into buying a newer version and I'm going to take your advice of "Start studying yesterday!" to heart!
I used Kyle's Drive as well and YouTube videos as well. There's a lot of study material floating around, so feel free to read back a few pages

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can answer a question on the UAV section of the test. I've gotten pretty good at doing it in my head using the ASTB test prep app but I noticed they updated the app and they said newer versions of the ASTB have some offset 10 and 20 degree questions as opposed to 90 and 45 degree questions. And now you have the choice to be practice the offset ones. I was wondering if this is true and if anyone that took the ASTB recently saw any irregular questions.

“Old” at 24…?
I mean... yes. I'm almost halfway through my 20's and the prospect of waiting two more years (I'd be 26) to get picked up is super disheartening and I don't know what I'd do in the meantime, I don't currently have the resources to get a masters or graduates as I was planning on doing that in or after the military.

For those of yall who took the test a second time, are the questions harder? I've heard that they are, any truth to this?
my 1st time i practiced everything on planes flight dynamics, I got a lot of boat and ship stuff failed hard, second time studied the boat stuff and got a bunch of aircraft, aerodynamics, vor, and little to no ship stuff!

Hello everyone, just took the ASTB a few days ago and got a 6/7/7. I am currently active duty with 6 years in the Marines and 100 hours flight time. Anyone have any insight if my ASTB scores make my package competitive enough? I do not mind re taking if needed just want to see where it stands!

For Marines, if you PFT is 270/280+ that score will do. Assuming you have a clean record and good LORs. For the Navy, it would be a miracle. Normal times that would competitive with a good GPA… but not for current times

I just bought a used x52 hotas from some guy and it seems like it's in pretty good condition. To those of you who have the X52, does the throttle take some force to push it forward and back? I'm used to using my PlayStation's thrustmaster and the throttle is pretty loose and doesn't take much effort to push. Does this sound normal for the X52?

I just took the ASTB for the second time and got a 55 7/8/7. Are these scores competitive right now or pretty average?

I did not see any 10 or 20-degree offset UAV problems. My test was similar to the one I took a month ago.
