Hey everyone! I just got done taking the OAR today and scored a 52! I've had a long journey of multiple recruiters and months of waiting, but with enough push and tenacity I finally was able to get it done. It's funny, when I originally heard of the test and aimed for a score, my target was 52. Funny how I managed to land that exact score.
I'll go ahead and give a rundown of each section here:
Math: Quite literally everything in the main study guides I saw, but no binary, matrix multiplication, logs, or DRT problems. A lot of working with variables and extremely complicated 'simplify this equation' type of questions, and I surprisingly saw a few that I had previously done on a few of the practice tests/ study guides. I had one question on converting radians to degrees, one hard area question involving simple geometry principles, and a lot of higher-level probability. I did also have a question on simplifying a radical (simplify the sqrt of 216) and simplifying variables (negative exponents and distribution) I didn't get kicked out, went to time. I'm decent at math, so I just went through everything given as well as a lot of practice problems. I forgot who posted
this guide, but we had similar problems.
Reading: Boring. Didn't study at all for this, but the big thing for this section is just focusing up and reading through the big words to find the most correct answer. There's usually 2 that could apply, out of the two pick the one that lines up *exactly* with the material given. Went to time on this.
Mechanical: I'm terrible at physics, but if you study any of the guides on here, you're 100% fine. I had no MA problems at all. I had some work problems, speed/acceleration problems, really nothing that wasn't either common sense or on the study guides. I did have some balancing forces problems in relation to a beam, but those were the only calculations I had to do.
