My backup is to go for SWO or nuke. My OR already mentioned if I wanted to go Nuke and want to ship out soon (like in the next 2 weeks) I can enlist and basically get a commission after A school. Granted I meet the requirements after A school.

Working as civ for almost 4 years, I realized this isn't for me and I regret not trying to apply to NROTC programs for college or even the attempt to get accepted to Annapolis. I was set on being a pilot so I went this route but now I just want to be in the Navy so whatever I can get, I will take.
Definitely talk to an OR about nuke. I really don’t think that there is a commission option right after nuke A-school, and yes, I have seen plenty of recruiters either outright lie or embellish opportunities. If you want it, get it in writing prior to signing.

I’m not trying to bad mouth the navy or recruiters, and I’ve enjoyed my time in. But if it’s not in writing, don’t take anyone’s word for it. It’s a work contract.

If bad idea fairies were real, that is what they would say. Don't listen to the bad idea fairy.

or

"basically get a commission" which means you will get auto advanced to E-4 and then spend the next 6 years wondering what happened.

also....

What is your degree and GPA? The standards to get picked up as a nuke officer as enlisted or civilian are the same, the hoops to jump through when enlisted are significantly more though.

Honestly though: 302 people, 9 days so far, that’s 33.5 people per day. Let’s just round that up to a nice whole 34 people per day. If what they say is true and they only look at our applications for say, 10 minutes, then they should be able to tackle those 34 people per day in 6 hours. This leaves 1 hr lunch and two 30-min breaks. That’s their 8 hours and we should have results tomorrow ?

on average the board is 1 or 2 days, the rest is admin by NRC, it is more like a minute or two for each application.
