Are those who are reviewing our applications and deciding yes/no currently aviators who get pulled in for these duties a few times a year? Are they former aviators who now work under NRC? Just NRC without any aviator history? And where does it take place geographically? I'm imagining a group of people in a special room with stacks of papers and this room being the same room it has always happened for the last 100 years.

So I’m nosy as fuck. I had similar questions. I actually looked at the last couple of results pages and saw that the board chair has been the same person for the last few. I fleet temps searched them and All of them are pilots or NFOs from what I’ve seen. It lists the time day and location the boards convene on the results that they send out (I think page 80 of this most recent august board for results). I even emailed him (the board chair) before to ask questions and he was responsive haha. Am I crazy? Haha

Now I’m no doctor, but those 3 stars are not calling NRC and leaning on them for faster results. That guy on this board I’m sure has some great LORs from the 3 stars, and no doubt it will help, but I very much doubt it will affect the speed of results. But who cares in the long run, we’ll find out well before OCS dates or re-application deadlines.

I’m hoping it’s before thanksgiving though. The sooner the better for peace of mind!

Did your buddy work for a couple three stars or what? I’m not sure how much 3 star LORs help… I have one so I’m hoping it carries some weight, but I’ll bet ASTB rules all. For reference, I have that LOR and still got pushed from the August board to this board. Didn’t exactly help my results get sped up haha.

haha ya I didn't believe it too, until my recruiter was talking to me saying that she was called by the board first saying he was selected and they were being pushed to get the results out.

yea these 3 stars are in some high positions in the Navy
