My recruiter mentioned that anybody that gets an 8 on any score is an auto select lol 95% sure he was blowing smoke up my ass
Since auto qual or auto select went away a while ago, yes, however I never had an applicant personally or at my NRD that had an 8 or 9 that wasn't selected, as long as they didn't have issues like legal waivers.

I’ve read that around here somewhere too and it definitely sounds like smoke is being blown lol. I’ve seen people get picked up with PFAR of 6 and others were declined with PFAR of 8. Who knows honestly. Let’s just hope this board is generous ?
It likely has to do with waivers, that is what happens most of the time, there have been several instances where I have been PM'd by a person who was denied with a high PFAR asking if I thought their waiver could be overcome.

NRC gave out stats several years ago and I don't remember the exact percentages and this was before they switched to a min of 6 which they have now switched back, however it was 9 or 8 was rare to not select (they didn't exclude waiver issues), 7 was 50/50 shot, 6 was a bit less than 50/50 and 5 was rarely selected. This is why when they switched from 5 to 6 min it really didn't chance much.

This of course is accurate and makes sense but it's interesting that so much weight and consideration is given to a 2.5 hour test taken in the closet of a NRC with a loud refrigerator on a early 2000's computer that crashes twice mid test (and doesn't accept emergency procedure accurate inputs on either the first test or retest) with a $5 pair of headphones that do not fit your ears. Hopefully this experience is not universal but it sucks that this is supposed to be statistically indicative of an applicant's ability to excel in this program. But hey I guess that's just the military. I have a friend who scored 6/6/6 who is now in Whidbey flying the Growler so chin up to my fellow 5-6 PFARS that are crying in the corner with me.
Hey! Those are Military issued PC’s!

I remember one of the times I was on shore duty and they started replacing out PC's, the computers had been sitting for nearly a year in our storage before being changed out.
??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️Yikes, I got a 7 on the PFAR and that stick and throttle was atrocious for how unresponsive it was.

Sounds like you have a military computer lol. Btw, as officers, will we all be getting PC laptops with CAC access? My OR has one

I use a CAC reader to do all of my stuff when im not working. As for what officers get idk, some commands can let you use some equipment.

Page 11 of the previous board results listed flight hours. How big does that impact it all?
I’ve heard it doesn’t impact your overall package that much. I’ve heard that the navy would rather teach you their way from the jump than have to break old habits you learned elsewhere. I could be wrong though but considering how much money they spend to train you, and the fact that they take people with no flight experience whatsoever, I don’t think it matters.

How is everyone feeling tonight? I can’t help but stare at the clock and think of all the work/effort that has culminated to this point.

Also, I don’t think we had a Halloween based post today?! I got us…

LOL I'm doing well. I'm sitting outside my house dressed up like Jason with a deactivated chainsaw asking kids if they'd like me to cut their arms or legs off. Some of them told me to go fuck myself, and I'm really proud of them for learning these street smarts.
