No contender for the best state, but without contest, NJ is the worst by far. Use the turnpike to go EVERYWHERE, limited left and turns, limited work opportunities that are other than minimum wage, ridiculous taxes, and it literally stinks.
CT is pretty awful, too. High taxes, not much to do for fun, although it lacks the distinct NJ "stink", so I guess it has that going for it.

Louisiana is hot and humid as hell, the capital city is under sea level (and sometimes under water), and the government is more corrupt than the China.

gentleman may I introduce you to Massachusetts , High taxes , a 1000 square foot house is $650,000. It’s always cold except for 2-3 months. And our local elected officials have the IQ of a squirrel. Did I mention everything is expensive.

NJ, the only state that had a Senator shut down public access to state parks, just to take him and his family alone to one of them. Also, told the NJ National Gard General he was fat, while looking like a short meatball in his suit.

I’m from CA, I don’t think I need to explain that one. Living in Colorado atm it’s pretty sweet except the cost of living is getting right up there with CA
Also currently in the great state of Colorado atm. It’s pretty nice and all but is definitely lacking from not having an ocean nearby.
Good for training and getting hella fit tho

I'm from NJ. Can confirm. You forgot about the "go fuck yourself" attitude 99.69% of us have when someone says "hey how are you?" to us at the grocery store ?
