So just got the phone with my *new* recruiter. He's stated that ISPP and off the street applicants are still in separate pools, even though the at board list was combined, take with a grain of NaCl though
Of course that goes against what the PA says, so I would tend to go with the PA.

You really can't have a different pool when ISPP is automatic and they are all OCS billets LOL

These ISPP PRO RECs make me regret not enlisting or joining NROTC as a young buck lol
Yeah going off that, what are the drawbacks to ISPP. It’s sounding like a great program, I read “six months time in service minimum to qualify”. What are the catches?

I couldn't tell ya man. My OR was trying to have me enlist first so I have a "better chance at getting selected", but that sounded like a trap right from the start... I was 27! I don't know how long an A school is, but I don't think it's 6 months lol. I noticed most AD guys who got selected are Petty Officers with up to 10 years of experience.

Absolutely under no circumstances should you enlist first. You have to get CO recommendation for your package and your chief mess will shut it down cause they need to get “their time” out of you first.

One of the only differences is you cannot have any waivers. Now I'm just assuming and don't actually know the true reason, but I believe it is to incentivize more active-duty applicants. This is probably due to wanting to improve the number of active-duty applicants for reason such as they fail out less or are more likely to stay in for 20 years.

They are also more likely to leave when they hit their 20, other designators have seen the negative effects of that, however SNA/SNFO/SWO are larger designators that can deal with that better.

What’s up guys and gals! First time posting on here. My CO dropped the news yesterday that I was selected for NFO. Celestin stated on the email that results should be out tomorrow. Good luck everyone who hasn’t heard yet.

How mad is everyone gonna be if it doesn’t drop tomorrow
His email say it will be updated on BOL on 23 June that is NOT how NRD's get the info, it is via email, whether the list comes out tomorrow or not is entirely on the director of OCS accessions sending it out tomorrow. It also depends on whether the processors have had time to update the system and get all the OCS dates picked (if they can).

Be cautiously optimistic.
