Lets get it!!!
A word to the wise for everyone though, my recruiter said these are all "unofficial results" and have the potential to change. Don't 100% count your chickens before getting a final select letter!
When the results memo is released those are official results. Some people think the FINSEL paperwork is official and the results memo isn't, but that's a misconception. Your selection on the memo is official, the paperwork that comes later is just part of the process.

I'm not sure why they would change something from now until the results memo but I suppose you could take the releases today with a grain of salt. Once you see your name on the results memo that's pretty set in stone unless you ruin it for yourself as mentioned previously about the clearance investigations.

Killed the vibe jk lol but my recruiter told me something drastic would have to happen or come up For that to happen but I didn’t ask about it. Obviously you’re right but I’m not sure what would have to take place if that were to happen.

I called the office my recruiter works at and got transferred to his extension, he sounded nervous when he heard my voice & apologized for not answering my call this morning or returning my text messages from December & from today ( I swear I try my best not to be annoying, I rarely reach out. I only call/text for important things regarding testing, package prep, just straight business and even then I'll wait 3-5 days for a response before "double texting" ) Anyways, I asked my OR if he could access the unofficial results and he said he already looked at them this morning and that I made NFO but there was an empty space for SNA.

It was an awkward moment as I told him "That's great news but I didn't apply for NFO, never mentioned it, I thought we put in a package for SNA only"

He was silent then replied "Well it's already been submitted & if you got Pro-Rec Y for NFO I'm sure you'll get it for SNA as well, just wait for official results to be out"

I know I'm slightly getting ahead of myself since I don't completely have a Pro-Rec N for SNA but I fear that the fact that my package was submitted for both designators reduces my chances for SNA.

I don't know how to feel right now... not to look down on any positions but I do not want NFO, I don't have an interest in it and I thought I had made it clear that I wanted to submit as SNA only.

What makes me sound uneasy about this whole thing is that he sounded really nervous talking to me over the phone, trying to be really nice, I'm wondering if he even put me down for SNA...... I do recall reading my package before it was submitted and there was a section where recruiters can add in information about an applicant, he allowed me to read what was written about me and I recall him writing down that I'd be an excellent "Naval Flight Officer"

I clearly remember politely asking him to fix that error before submitting my packet and reminding him that I was going for SNA...

Is there a way for me to check if he even put me down me for SNA? If I deny NFO for this board can I reapply SNA-only next board?

You can re-apply, but its going to look bad. Denying an officer spot after an offer just shows the board that you didnt want it. And its hard to get back in/

Y'all my stomach hurts.

I really want SNA, been working so freaking hard for this moment to apply. Getting tutoring, retaking the test, again, I've been at this for 2 years to get my package in. My last recruiter was thorough, precise and had clear communication with me and I'm holding everything in that I can right now not to drive down to the office right now.

Usually, people aren't selected for both so the likelihood of "I'm sure you'll get it for SNA as well", is probably not an accurate statement.

You can turn down NFO and reapply for the next board for SNA, that's your prerogative. If I were you I'd try to bump the PFAR to an 8. You may have been selected for NFO because the score was higher. I bet he was an OR like several that seemed to submit for NFO without applicants knowledge.

I feel your pain. My recruiter also put me down for NFO behind my back and only mentioned it to me when I called him to give me a status update. He hasn’t convinced me of it but he stated he wanted to be sure that I got something (sounds like recruiter’s quota IMO) but at that point and given my age (32 in a few weeks) what’s done is done.

I am a pilot in the civilian world (leisurely) and I also wanted to be a pilot in the Navy badly. Flying fighter jets and not having to deal with anything else is what I’ve always wanted to do. But he proud that you got accepted regardless! It’s not something someone can say they did and plus, who knows you might even enjoy it!

But also, a thing to consider that a friend in the Navy (who has experience with this) told me that it is possible to go through the Redesignation Board. That officer went from NFO to Pilot and he was accepted! Here’s the link for that info:

The choice is ultimately yours and others are right — it may be difficult to get back in!

it is possible to get redesignated but the chances are very slim
