okay, i had a rough idea about that stuff but nothing concrete (obviously lol); like i said before i guess it's just those second time around jitters about if they'll take me and when i'll actually get back there.
Someone in your chain of command could just not like you/get a bad first impression of you which could set you back years as well.

Once you’re in, the biggest question they will ask you is “why don’t you want to become a chief”. Very easy question to answer but still hard to say because you might get shitted by the chiefs on what said or how you said it.

Edit: I should add this, I would like to become chief some day and as enlisted person you should too. As you make it up the ladder, you personally work close with the sailors. So when the time comes to make chief, you can take all the bad and make changes to a command and the sailors for the better good (hopefully). If I stay in the enlisted side, I am going after the CMC position.
yeah that was my thought process, if im going to enlist i'd most likely stay there (as sad as it would be to not be able to fly) and do what i can from the senior enlisted side (maybe do LDO but i havent heard much about it so im not really considering it).

Depending on what rate a person is in depends on if LDO is truly an option, for some it is not.

I’d only recommend enlisting if you’re following the path I followed, which is enlisting for the GI bill, get out, go to school, get your degree, and return. But if you already have your bachelors in hand it’s not a great idea. All it takes is being in a command that either views you as too valuable or as a shit bag and you could get stuck either way. My path has been a long one and I can’t even say for sure I’ll be picked up.

Best rate in the navy
is that a general consensus kinda thing? I've heard aviation rates are pretty good and i figured that for whatever reason if i didnt make it AM would at least be a good rate for me. Whats the advancement and lifestyle like for the rate?

Best rate depends on many things, are you looking for QOL while in, advancement, best job opportunities when you get out, location of duty stations, etc.....

What may be best for one person may not be best for another.
