Could you walk me through your test? Did you get all the math problems correct? UAV questions? Dichotic listening? How did you feel you did on the tracking? ANIT questions?Got a 48 6/8/7 on my 2nd ASTB take today! Would've liked maybe a 7 AQR and a little higher OAR but its a big score increase across the board and I'll be sticking with this score. Very happy with it.
Sure! So math I ended up finishing it with about 15 minutes left on the clock. Felt like I did pretty well. Got a lot of geometry and probability questions of varying difficulty. Reading I have no clue but by the end it was word soup so probably a good sign. Mechanical comprehension I got almost exclusively Newtonian force questions and pressures which as an engineering student I think I did okay on. UAV I got all of them right except for one where I got too much in a rhythm which snapped me out of that and refocused me. Dichotic to my knowledge I didn't miss any and the PBM I absolutely crushed thanks to our lord and savior, Jantzen. ANIT is where I definitely could've done better. I got a ton of questions on radio communications stuff as well as weather stuff. Both of which are a weak area of mine but everything else I was able to answer confidently. Ultimately I think my struggles on the ANIT influenced my 6 AQR the most.Could you walk me through your test? Did you get all the math problems correct? UAV questions? Dichotic listening? But not a frustrating as the real thinghot take: Jantzen sim is the most frustrating thing on the planet.
For PFAR I got an 8.What is your PFAR score, that is feedback which will actually matter.
What a jerk! There isn't anything wrong with telling someone the truth, in fact I told many people they weren't competitive but they would be doing most of the work so it they wanted to submit I would help them submit.I was scheduled to go to MEPS for a post Lasik checkup on Friday, then my OR called me to tell me he found out I've been working with the Marines.
"You might as well keep working with them... Honestly man, you're not competitive for the Navy. I doubt you'll get selected."
He says he would still work with me, but needs to wait for the liaisons to move files. What a guy.
Yeah I appreciate the honesty, but it would've been nice to hear it from him from the start, instead of him reassuring me that I'm "good" even though I was lacking. What a jerk! I also didn't care if someone said they were also applying to other services for one reason, I knew I was a damn good recruiter and if they were selected by a USN board they were going USN.
In my entire recruiting time I lost exactly 0 to other services, and I lost only 1 who declined after selection and that was actually a good thing, technically it was 2 but the 1 changed his mind and I was able to turn the selection back on.
Which DP test did they administer?Went to MEPS about a week ago and got the results back that say I failed depth perception test, definitely came as a shock to me MEPS guy gave no indication I did bad on it and I have a FAA first class medical which I know doesn't mean anything to them but still definitely surprised.
My recruiter says he can get a waiver for it, but reading through the forums makes me think the waiver will definitely hurt my packet. I am going to an actual eye doctor on the 14th for a second opinion, so hopefully all goes well and I'll have everything submitted for this board.
Anyone heard of or have a similar situation?
I'm not sure the name of it but it was a paper with dots on it and I put on these glasses, and they told me to tell them which dot out of a group of three looked the clearest to me.Which DP test did they administer?
That’s the standard navy depth perception test. It’s annoying but once in you’ll have to do it every year. I’d get a second opinion from an optometristI'm not sure the name of it but it was a paper with dots on it and I put on these glasses, and they told me to tell them which dot out of a group of three looked the clearest to me.
Definitely disheartening, thank you for the info. Will have to look into LASIK/PRK hopefully that will help some with depth perception. That’s the standard navy depth perception test. It’s annoying but once in you’ll have to do it every year. I’d get a second opinion from an optometrist
You can't waive DP, if your civilian ophthalmologist gives you a good to go letter then give that to your recruiter.Went to MEPS about a week ago and got the results back that say I failed depth perception test, definitely came as a shock to me MEPS guy gave no indication I did bad on it and I have a FAA first class medical which I know doesn't mean anything to them but still definitely surprised.

Might have misheard him then, he can be a little hard to understand sometimes. probably said he'll try to get one then I'm not really sure. You can't waive DP, if your civilian ophthalmologist gives you a good to go letter then give that to your recruiter.
