From what I have heard SWO is pretty much accepting everyone that has at least the minimum OAR score. I have very similar stats to you and my recruiter says I’m for sure getting into SWO. I offered LOR’s too and he said they wouldn’t be necessary and that my package was great and I have nothing to worry about. All the talk I’ve heard is that SWO very much in demand and as long as you are eligible they are almost 100% taking you. You can refer to the sheets spreadsheet and previous boards to see this too, someone said their recruiter told them last board had a 100% acceptance rate for all eligible candidates. With respect and kindness, anyone know what my chances are?
Hey All, first time posting on Air Warriors. Me and my recruiter are submitting our package tomorrow for this board date Im pretty sure. I'm just asking if any of you know my situation will conclude with a selection or not. My recruiter says I should be fine-I'm just paranoid about these things mixed in with what I've read from other people.
Situation:
Male
Age- 22
GPA- 3.19 B.A. History Fullerton
OAR- 49
-Just graduated college. No military background
-3 Letters of Rec: 1. previous employer during college years (server at restaurant lol. Had a lot of leadership experience and lessons) 2. Professor 3. Pastor (No LOR from active military, recruiter said I don't need to. Kinda worried about the lack of this)
-I think I'm pretty healthy? no waivers needed, regular gym goer, Navy Command just gave me the "okay" for my physical/medical.
I'm usually a higher GPA kid, I fell for the "GPA doesn't matter in College" mentality :/. Really want to get in. I grew out of wanting to teach, changed a lot in my young adult years. I'm sure you all can relate.
Edit: Also maybe its important this is the only designator im applying for
Thanks for the clarification man, really helpful. 100% acceptance rate is crazy what. lolFrom what I have heard SWO is pretty much accepting everyone that has at least the minimum OAR score. OAR 59
Now to wait and see...
You'll get your OCS date when you get your results. You might get a February date since classes are already filling up for January.I can’t wait to actually hear back from the boards, if/when accepted do they give your ship date right away? My recruiter said I should be good for the December class, I’m just hoping it doesn’t fill up
That would not be good for me at all, idk why my recruiter said I will ship for the December class thenYou'll get your OCS date when you get your results. You might get a February date since classes are already filling up for January.
You could always have your recruiter put in a request for December, once you get your results. I was a 26-JAN date, but now I'm heading out 03-NOV. Not guaranteed you'll get December, but worth a shot. That would not be good for me at all, idk why my recruiter said I will ship for the December class then
Thank you, I will do that, when I got my package done in August he said he put me down for October, so he said we will see about December pending results for now.You could always have your recruiter put in a request for December, once you get your results. Recruiters should not make any promises concerning OCS dates, the only control they have over them is the date available until the actual dates come out, then they can make a request. They are more flexible now as in the past the answer was "the person will ship on the date assigned or they can decline the position".That would not be good for me at all, idk why my recruiter said I will ship for the December class then
