Good Lord
Apparently you have a very one dimension form of thinking. Do you really want me to slice up the language here and explain it to you? Your argument that "an inanimate object can't have resolve" is flawed in two ways:
1) an inanimate object can have resolve. Resolves means determination. In the most denotative context, the word determination implies the decision or settlement arrived at or pronounced or a solution. If two men engage in a fight, and one of the men has a gun and shoots the other man, then the gun has determination. Thus, the gun has resolve, and an inanimate object is capable of having resolve. (though in this situation the inanimate object's resolve was depedent upon its use by a human, there are many examples I could illustrate that would take out the human action)
2) You are looking at an aircraft carrier as a very static concept. When I say an aircraft carrier, I do not mean a bunch of steel with guns on it that is sitting in a port. That would be inanimate. When I say an aircraft carrier, I am clearly referring to the aircraft carrier as a moving force guided by human beings. Thus, the aircraft carrier isn't an inanimate object at all. It seems to take on a life of its own as something larger than any human being.

While I understand why you might that opinion, your idea of me as an individual is incredibly limited and restricted to the few posts that I've made on this forum. Sure, sometimes I write some silly stuff because I think it's funny and I want to troll.
O.K. ... at first I just thought you were confused & meant well (and were actually seeking OUR help) ... now I believe you need professional help. Or you're just a kook. Or a troll. In any case, you're not Naval Officer material in your present incarnation ....... If two men engage in a fight, and one of the men has a gun and shoots the other man, then the gun has determination. Thus, the gun has resolve, and an inanimate object is capable of having resolve.....
Anyone ??? Anyone ??? Bueller ???
This is like watching a trainwreck in slow motion
Look finnsy, I would take a wild guess and say that A4s probably knows Officer material. He's been around the block, more than a few times and if thats what he believes, he's welcome to that opinion. No one's job here is to impress you or say the right things to give you a warm fuzzy inside. Thats the one thing that makes Airwarriors so unique, is that the officers here aren't going to bullshit you and will be blatantly honest all the time....whether you agree or disagree or even asked for it.I think that you saying that I am not Naval Officer material is outrageous. I'll be sure to let you know when I get my commission.
So what if I'm articulate? There's a difference between knowing how to effectively use a word and sounding like a dog-eared dictionary lover. I'm an English major and I read a lot of fucking books.
I understand everyone here has experience, but to say that I'm not officer material from such a limited example of me is just ridiculous. If you think that I'm using big words from a 'vocab list from the LSAT exam' then this only proves my point. Not only does the LSAT not have a vocab' oriented portion, but you're just wrong. So what if I'm articulate? There's a difference between knowing how to effectively use a word and sounding like a dog-eared dictionary lover. I'm an English major and I read a lot of fucking books. This coupled with the fact that I have a damn good memory gives me the ability to use a wide variety of words. I am not ostentatious. I don't want people to bullshit me and make me feel good. I'd just be happy if they stopped making outrageous assumptions about my character and determination. It's fine though. Everyone's just giving me more fuel to study even harder for this exam and train as hard as possible. Considering the fact that I still have six months until I graduate, and I still have to get my vision waiver, and then take the ASTB, there's still a lot ahead of me until I can, God permitting, get what I want-- but I can't wait to get to OCS and graduate so I can prove all of you wrong.
