I understand everyone here has experience, but to say that I'm not officer material from such a limited example of me is just ridiculous. If you think that I'm using big words from a 'vocab list from the LSAT exam' then this only proves my point. Not only does the LSAT not have a vocab' oriented portion, but you're just wrong. So what if I'm articulate? There's a difference between knowing how to effectively use a word and sounding like a dog-eared dictionary lover. I'm an English major and I read a lot of fucking books. This coupled with the fact that I have a damn good memory gives me the ability to use a wide variety of words. I am not ostentatious. I don't want people to bullshit me and make me feel good. I'd just be happy if they stopped making outrageous assumptions about my character and determination. It's fine though. Everyone's just giving me more fuel to study even harder for this exam and train as hard as possible. Considering the fact that I still have six months until I graduate, and I still have to get my vision waiver, and then take the ASTB, there's still a lot ahead of me until I can, God permitting, get what I want-- but I can't wait to get to OCS and graduate so I can prove all of you wrong.
I'm sure as an English major you understand communication. However, I'm not sure you're communicating effectively in this environment, specifically this audience. It may work while puffing on a cornpipe with fellow philosophers during the metaphysics club meeting at a table outside of Starbucks... but here it's a little different. The audience here is vast, with many connections, some of those connections include various board members who frequent this website. Your motivational statement, location, major, etc may very well stand out like a sore thumb.
