What a stupid extrapolation from this conversation.

-Is "Uncle Tom" not an actual expression used today?
-Is this expression not used to imply that the person is "selling out" his race akin to selling them into slavery?
-Is this expression not solely reserved for successful people, that even includes public figures like Clarence Thomas an Michael Jordan?
-Do blacks not commit violent crimes on each other more than any other race in America?
-Does any other race have a similar expression that is as racially polarizing and widely used?

One, that’s an observation similar to what I’ve seen growing up. Two, even if he said something full on hateful, that’s not systemic. If systemic racism is oppressing people, where is it?

You're quote didn't say some blacks. You implied it was necessary for them to succeed. Why are you trying to back peddle on your statement? own it.

The key difference is the race of the originator.

If racial slurs and violence against blacks is coming predominately from other black people...well, we can't reasonably conclude that the core issue is oppression and systemic racism from white people.
