Interesting. I see it in a slightly different way…by 2099 the CCP won’t exist in China (perhaps as a minor political party). It is not a matter of military might but simple economics. China created a demanding middle class and even China’s soft communism (we like to call, them CHICAPS here) can’t contain them. But yes, Taiwan will be reunited with the next China.

Interesting. What political winds do you see? From the outside, I see a conformist culture that is going to have a vanishing working class as the population ages over the next couple of decades. They have one of the lowest birth rates in the world, at around 1.2 or so. Demographically, I think this is peak China. I think the CCP will crack down on the Chinese people as production wanes, and there won't be enough young people to push back effectively.

First, I want to get this thread back on track…Russia sucks!

I don’t disagree entirely with your analysis with the exception that people tend to forget the enormous and typically slow power of a developed “middle class.” The only successful (and by successful I mean long lasting) “revolutions” in history are those born not from the poor or “working” class, but the established “middle” or “skilled” class. You are correct to note that a communist China can’t support what they’ve created for demographic reasons and it is true that globalism has flattened inexpensive labor locations. Because of this China will need to pivot their economy from “top of the world” to “part of the world” and an aggressive communist government will not be welcome thereby weakening their economy further. To keep their place, their personal gains, the middle class will force change and probably without too much (if any) violence. Communist China won’t end in counter-revolution, it will simply fade into a Chinese government elected by the people.

That said…Russia sucks!

C'mon, 2099? No one can predict that far out. That would be like predicting 1999 in 1924. China might be a liberal democracy, Japan might be a dictatorship, and the United States may no longer exist, having fractured for whatever reason.

I'm not sure if he's just a useful idiot, or if he's a witting idiot due to any element of MICE. Probably more money TBH.

With that said, I have family friends that uncritically think this dude is the truth. It's sad.
