Does anyone know how scores on the updated simulator translate to ASTB scores? I've heard different opinions on what constitutes a good score on the sim, and I'd like to be able to gauge where I'm at.
When I took it for the third time, I got an 8 PFAR. I was scoring sub 120 on both targets, on average. Occasionally I would break 110 and sometimes even break 100.

Could anyone help me out, I have the x52 hotas and I am running antimicro on a windows. I have configurated in antimicro exactly to what has been left in this thread but only my throttle works on the Jomo sim. I can't get my joystick to do anything. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. thx

I am having the same problem. I think we may be SOL for the joystick part (hopefully I am wrong) and will be stuck using a mouse for the practice sim. I am hoping that the muscle memory from the mouse translates decently to the joystick for the test.

I tried hooking up a Thrustmaster HOTAS X on my computer (Macbook Pro) to try the Jantzen ASTB website, but it is not responding. I then proceeded to try it on another computer an HP Laptop and it is still not working. Any ideas as to why that might be? possibly because it is an old version and its not a current HOTAS like the X52 or a Logitech?

Question- when using the updated simulator, I am running into an issue with the emergency procedure controls. In the menu of the simulator, they work as directed (counter clockwise = higher, clockwise = lower) however when the sim starts, it reverts itself back (CCW = Lower, and CW = higher).

And then for the engine which is the ‘ I ‘ button on the side it’s the same thing. In the menu it’s up = lower; down = higher. However, once the sim starts, it is the opposite.

Anyone experience this or have a fix?

I haven't done the sim in a while but I tried it again today on the highest difficulty; and perhaps it's an issue on my end but my joystick seemed slow when trying to track the target. Like if the target turned in a certain direction and I turned immediately after, I almost wouldn't be able to catch up. Is this normal sim behavior?

Hi, I just stumbled across this forum and all the information is fantastic! I am trying to study for the ASTB and I already have a joystick and throttle, however it is a Thrustmaster T.16000M, and not the x52 that I have seen mentioned here so often. Will any joystick and throttle work with the simulator or just the X52? Thanks in advance!

It will work as long as you use a joystick mapper like Joy2Key or Antimicro, same as the x52. However, if it is not the X52 I don't know if you can practice the emergency procedures with it.

Personally, I would try to find a cheap example of the x52 on Ebay or Mercari or somewhere similar and practice with it instead.

For anyone else having a hard time, this YouTube video explains how to make a joystick work as your mouse and has the AntiMicro link in the description. Attached is a saved configuration file for AntiMicro that seems to be as close as my memory of the ASTB can get me. This was setup with an X52 HOTAS.

has anyone been able to use the file or could tell me the correct settings for antimicro or antimicro x? having a hard time adjusting from using the HOTAS One to the X52 was its way less sensitive

So I've done the "6000 deadzone, 32000 max deadzone" setting for the Axis: 1,2,&3. I saw a configuration file earlier in this thread and I'm going to try it out. It was from a post around 2022 but I attached the file to this comment.

Well, unless you figured out how to get the file to work, I'd honestly just stick to the already mentioned deadzones.

I've also downloaded antimicrox, the latest version of antimicro, and I feel like it is even harder now to track using the joystick on the hardest setting. I find it hard to break below 200 at times. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Just recently took my first attempt at the ASTB and want to improve my score so I am taking it again soon. I want to improve on the joystick portion and plan on purchasing one myself. However, I am running into trouble understanding how to set it up once I purchase and are confused as to which joystick mapping app I should use. I only have access to a MacBook but have only seen joystick mapping for windows. Any recommendations?
