Pro-Rec Y as well. Supply and Intel are 2nd/3rd, but it sounds like I'll automatically be processed for SWO. Was kind of curious what those boards would say.

Good luck to everyone, and thanks for the information along the way.

Hi I got Pro-Rec Y yesterday as well for SWO board. I am still waiting for my INTEL board result. The headquarter personnel told me that the my security clearance process will take about a year as I was naturalized from China. :( I want to to take a vacation trip to China and spend two months there, does anyone know if that will affect or delay my background check process giving the fact that I was in China for a month this March already. Any advice will be great, thanks and good luck to all!

I'm a naturalized citizen too....But I haven't been in the Philippines for almost 10 years....

You guys really think it takes a year to pass security clearance? My recruiter told me that he expects me to be at OCS at around Fall this year and didn't mention anything taking that long to clear

No idea how long it takes, but my friends say the gov't contractors (not even FBI agents) that have been interviewing them are just talking to them for a few minutes and asking really uninteresting things. Not exactly comforting from a national security standpoint, but my point is that it doesn't sound like they're settling in for a long process. My interview is tomorrow. I was born in the US, though, so it's probably different.

I've been interviewed for other people in the past, but it was by actual FBI agents, and as far as I know they got their clearances pretty fast--in time to start working at agencies or whatever else they were applying for.

This isn't speaking from experience, but your best bet would be to stay in the US until it's complete to avoid possibly delaying it further (if it is already). I'm sure NOPO or Rufio will be by here to answer the question in depth, I just know there is more for them to check when you leave the country. My recruiter told me it will take ~7-10 days (for reference, I am a native-born who has never left the country) for my check to be completed. My guess is it will take a little while longer than a week or so, but definitely before OCS.

The person who interviewed me today said that he thinks it will take about 3 months for someone in my situation--US citizen, born here, nothing odd on application, but have lived a lot of different places in the US and with a decent amount of foreign travel. So maybe that should be a "best case" for your time frame.

Do you have to get approved for a security clearance before you're given an OCS date?

I think so lol, I have been travelling to more than 15 countries(mostly business trip). Therefore since I am naturalized from an Non-allied country, the investigation will definitely take much longer. Any senior member Rufio, NavyOffRec, DIVO, or BusyBee could give me some advice that whether I should go back to China before they complete the background check process? I speak to a regional headquarter personnel today who is in charge of my application and he suggests me to wait until the FBI or the agent starts the initial process. Also he tells me that my background check will not start until the other boards' results come out, in my case I am still waiting for the result from Intel/IW board as they are my second/third choice. I am told that I have the option to withdraw the application for Intel and IW to expedite my background investigation process. Apparently some of the members here have already started the investigation process and I am wondering maybe my case is particularly complex in comparison to others.

Can't speak to anything other than my personal experience... my background check started before I was pro-rec'd for any community. They didn't wait until I had been pro-rec'd for my first choice, and they definitely didn't wait for the 2nd or 3rd choice.

I see a lot of you have received word of selection in June. I submitted my package June 6th. I dont think so but do you think it was among those who have just received results? Or will it be among those of the next board?
