Yeah.. My OR says that no one in the san diego region got selected (including me) and then he hits me with the AMDO board being canceled. So I'm riding on the NFO board this year only..,.

NOBODY in good old San Diahgo got selected for supply!?? That is something Ron Burgundy would definitely not approve of.

Well...found out I am Pro-Y for Supply, so it looks like I'm going to Newport one way or another! Helps make the waiting a little more bearable, and certainly helps with the PT motivation...One more board to go!
Congrats bro, I know you're glad to have that monkey off your back.

If you got that from CNRC then I feel that it would be safe to say that it is pretty accurate.

When are you done with school?

You would be surprised how much those change (and that is the final schedule), that is why they usually don't put it out until much later, and that lets us guess for much longer.

PRO-Board- Means that your packet has been sent in for review, and awaiting a Pro-Y/Pro-N rec status change on your application after the board convenes.

PRO-Rec Y- Good news, you made the selection.... now you just sit and wait, and wait, and wait, OCS Date yay!!.....Wait some more, and wait even more (gotta get used to that), swear-in, then you're haze gray and underway soon afterwards!

PRO-Rec N- Bad news, but its good that you still put in the effort. I haven't seen very many of these... in fact, I haven't seen any during the last few boards that have happened.

As for everyone up here, just try to be patient as much as possible. Your time is coming, and when it does, its the greatest feeling in the world! I swear in tomorrow, and I look forward to serving with the rest of you.

and Pro Rec X means your application was rejected prior to board for some reason.

Does this mean that if the overall applicant pool is of higher-than-average quality, then the selection rates will likely be higher? Or does it mean that the bar will be set higher for selection and those with normally competitive qualifications but in the lower part of the applicant pool may not be picked up? I'm sure it's also a bit of a numbers game for how many applications there are total, but what have you seen in the past?

There are just so many variables, in generally pro rec Y's range from 25-75% the past few have been high due to reasons stated before. The board could decide to pick X% at each board, this was what originally was done and put out via an internal memo, it would make sense if they did that again.

Could they still change the date for the board on July 15th? Just curious as it is less than a week away.
