In the right circumstance it can help, but generally not, by percentage I had more people with PPL not selected than those without PPL not selected, the common factor, those who didn't get selected had low PFAR scores

I've heard the PFAR is big these days in selection.

Why does the PFAR seem to outweigh or be of more importance than the AQR? I thought both were looked at for SNA.

Absolutely. Don't quote me but 5 is qual, 6 is above average, 7 is good, 8 is almost excellent (or excellent), and 9 is you're too smart go to nuke, I keed.

I wouldn't call 6 "above average" I would call it "just above min" the rest is a good description.

In normal boards with say up to 75% selection it would be rare to see someone with a 5 or 6 picked up, a 7 would be 50/50, and 8 or 9 would be rare to not be picked up.

Wow...! No wonder my OR just about sternly forced me into retaking when I thought he was borderline crazy.

what was your original score? I would have my guys retake if 5 or 6, tell them give it a shot with 7, then if non select retake, increase score, and resubmit.

6/7/6 49 was the first. It might have been the OAR because at the time they may have been looking at it for OCS purposes. I was waiting anyways because of the PRK downtime.

It was up to me, but advised to retake if SNA was the only thing I was going to put on.

That would be a tough one to retake with that "7", I hope they utilize the OAR a little bit lol.

Does anyone else find it interesting that all of the ASTB scores are calculated from the same test, but have seemingly differing correlations? lol....Like RiseR...your scores on the first shot were better than mine but i still managed to squeek out a 50 OAR ...5/6/6 50...just an observation...either way I wont be taking that again lol, ill just be a Suppo... :D
