If you desire to be an officer add SWO to your list, just because you age out of SNA doesn't mean you will age out of SWO
I believe SWO has to be commissioned by 29? I am strongly leaning toward adding SWO to my list, but from what I've been reading on here people who put down SWO are really only considered if they have SWO in the first or second slot. I would be leaning toward SNA/SNFO/SWO as my preference. @NavyOffRec may I private message you for some more questions?

SWO boards generally consider your first and second choice, but there's been a few times here and there where they've taken folks who listed SWO as their third choice. NOPO put out a NOPO Gram a while back that they've been taking 94% of folks who have at least a 3.0 GPA and 48 OAR score. I don't think the number is that high nowadays, but I still think you have a very good shot for selection.

After a lot of consideration and input I've decided I'll go SNA/SWO/SNFO on my kit for this next time around. I want to fly, but I also want to serve. So thanks for everyone's input, hopefully should have some better ASTB scores shortly.

EDIT: Considering my com-sci background I'm halfway considering IW as well... But not sure.

IW might be a push, especially since most applicants taken for IDC programs have either prior enlisted experience or advanced degrees (JD, Masters, PhD, etc.). I submitted an applicant, non-prior, 3.8 BA degree, 58 OAR, good LORs last year and get turned down. It's extremely competitive.

I was thinking CWE if the school is acceptable and all the other requirements are met.

Oops, I thought the games were this week... I don't crossfit, but I like watching the games. Oh well, youtube re-runs later will suffice.

Out of curiosity, is the school requirement for CWE 100% firm that applicants must have a degree from one of those schools, even though all other requirements are met?

Hey all,

Don't know much about this, but my OR earlier this afternoon said that my packet was currently being reviewed. My OR sent it in about a month ago, so hopefully that means peoples' submitted kits are going to be decided on by the board.

If this is what I think it is, then it is just under review for error checking and similar. Until you hear the magic words "ORDPRO" or "Pro-Board" then it is all a waiting game. The next status for your kit assuming no errors is "At PM" until they start pulling kits for a board.

So the weirdest thing just happened. Immediately after Mr. @Raul B posted about the info he received from his OR, I got a call from my mentor (LT) asking if I've heard anything from the board. His voice also sounded really axious as if he had something to tell me. I told him that I haven't heard anything then he goes on to ask me what the word is from "AirWarriors". The timing of all this really kind of creeped me out. haha ... I was good there for a while but now I'm all hyped up again!! Well, I'm off to CPO 365 then class this evening. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day!

Also welcome to the wait @Raul B this will be time number three for myself. (Third times the charm right guys.. GUYS). Trust me when I say keeping your hopes in check is really important. The punch and pie can be found on your right.

RE: Boards, NO! The earliest the next SNA/SNFO board can meet is the middle of September. :p I joke, but I would be extremely surprised if they met again this soon. The National OPO blog said that the next board for SNA/SNFO won't be until NET 01Oct2014.

People joining in, check this thread. The National Office posts some good info on there regarding timelines:
