It sucks so bad that you missed the May board.. I got picked up with worse scores than you!

Thanks, yeah it sucks pretty bad. But I'm trying to stay positive. I missed the board by about a week due to my kit taking a month to process at my NRD, but for now I can't wallow in the frustration. I might get one more shot at the boards before I age out, so I'm going to give it the best effort I can. My scores were decent, and I know several people who were picked up with worse scores, but that is how the cards fell. If I age out of the Navy, I'm already working on backup plans. Not going to quit until I hit a brick wall I can't get past.

If been cheering for you since you found out you didn't make the board! You can do it! Get a February date and come with me! Haha

Haha the problem is I have to start OCS by Dec. 1 or I'll age out. So that is why I'm planning to hopefully get another shot but it will take me get getting past NRC and the PM, going ORDPRO and by some miracle a board meets sometime in September. I don't know if it is possible to cut it any closer and still have a relative shot. I'm going to do SNA and SNFO this time, not that it would have mattered last time I don't think.

But in this round of studying for the ASTB I figured out why I did so bad on the spatial orientation section. I only got three or so correct my first attempt. So yeah, I'm hoping to knock it out of the park... But I'm afraid the dates won't fall correctly.

I hate to say it, but chances are slim to none if you ask me. In order to reapply for SNA, you need to wait at least six months or SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS have been made to your application. Significant improvements include bumping your GPA, ASTB scores (significant gain), ref letters, interviews, etc. Bumping your ASTB score a couple of points isn't a significant improvement. For SNFO, since you technically didn't apply, you can submit a package for the October board, but even if you do get selected, it will be extremely difficult to get a FINSEL in on time.

Respectfully sir, thank you for your input but for my sanity, even if it is a slim chance, I still have to try. Granted if you were my OR I probably would have actually been a part of the May boards and we wouldn't be having this conversation. My processor and OR thought that a candidate had until their 28th birthday to be commissioned and didn't believe me when I said I was cutting it close. So yeah...
