Exactly what jpmizzou said. Just was curious about the the wait. Some people don't like to sit around and do nothing and get paid. It gets old! :)

Dual crew TORPEX? MADNESS! That must be part of the leaner, meaner VP community. Did you guys load up 4 x EXTORPs and fly all the way to AFWTF or did you settle for AUTEC? Tell you what, best TORPEX for my money is the LAMPS AUTEC det. Load for 30 minutes, hit the beach for an hour, reload, go fishing, reload, leer at the hot civilian fuel truck driver, lather, rinse repeat. :D
AUTEC. Four REXTORPs, two crews, bodies all over the place in the tube. Place looked like Jonestown. That's a reserve squadron for you. Multiple crews each needing a qual...answer - well, hell, why don't we just put both crews in the same plane and put all the torps and buoys they need in there too and let 'em come back when they're empty? Couldn't have shoehorned anything else in the fridge. It truly represented all that was wrong with doing more with less. Now THAT was a full urinal can... :)

Do us AF guys wait longer/shorter/ or the same as NAVY?

Peace,

Depends on timing like everything else, but from what I saw- typically shorter.

It didn't really change much at all on the Marine side, so I assume the Squids are in the same boat. Basically it is bumping them a week and upped the class size.
And if you are already starting, I don't have to tell you what "issues" you might get to deal with. Enjoy the compression!

What do you do while waiting for API, once you check in? Do you PT as a group, have any duties to fullfill, or is it more like you show up on Mon morning and Fri morning and have the rest of the week to do what you want?

You muster in khakis on Tues Thur at 0745, listen to a few announcements, then go home and back to bed. MWF its 0745 in pt gear and "pt" on your own for an hour, then sign a sheet and go home. Unless you get lucky enough and get a stash job, or you have to do IFS. My info is a little dated (last year), so things may have changed.

Actually, magic 8-ball would be the best bet. I hear they NFO's now have to do IFS as of about a month ago. The people that came down for the last few months have picked right up, though, with the only delay being medical in-proc.

I know NFOs for Bravo Co. are doing IFS. I'm not sure if it is an abbreviated version or not. The earliest API class dates for those of us that were in Bravo is end of September.
