Latest wait time for API?

Speaking of beaches.... are the Pensacola beaches reopened yet? I know they were closed right after Dennis passed through but I've been...uh, really busy with a-pool to find out if they're open again... :sleep_125

My admin officer here at the Univ of MN called NASP and found that when i report (2 sept) ill be lucky number 61 in line for IFS. They said they're pushing the pilots through much faster than FOs. And that theyre getting classed up 4 at a time. It makes me wonder how long ill be waiting and what ill be doing while i wait.

My friend just started API today and he said that pilots are being pushed through and NFO's are having to wait up to a year. Sounds a little extreme but that is what he said.

It could only benefit you to report a day early. That's what me and my roommates did. It gives you more time to find everything, too.

If you've already used up your authorized amount of days in transit and are starting to burn leave time, sure... I wouldn't checkin early just for the sake of doing it if it was going to stop my transit clock and cause a smaller travel claim... but thats just me.

There is a wait so you will have plenty of time to find stuff...

Had API orientation this morning. Current wait for classing up....

SNA w/IFS complete: 2 wks-2 months
SNFO w/IFS complete: 2-3 months

Or if youre like me....
SNFO w/o IFS: 3-6 months

Currently, about 400 in A-pool with 100 who reported onboard this week. SNAs have priority over SNFOs. So if youre going FO, look forward to the "Big Wait" as it has been so amptly named.

Also, show up in summer whites. There were some dirt bags showing up in khakis because their unit LT said it would be ok.

Looks like I have a lot of time to work on my swimming and running. Oh yea, and building up my tolerance to hard liqour ;)
