May 15TH Selection Board

I'm still waiting to hear as well. My package was submitted in March for April's board, but it didn't actually go to the board for whatever reason. Recruiter said "it just happens" sometimes. So I'm patiently waiting...again. Trying to stay positive. If I didn't get pro rec'd this month I'll resubmit in June, or until I get selected.

This is second time I've submitted... the waiting never gets any easier! :)

Non-select. Bummed... but not giving up. My recruiter and I decided I should re-take the ASTB in case I didn't get pro rec'd this month, so we could resubmit in June. I significantly improved my ASTB scores from 5/6/6 50 to 7/8/7 58. Hopefully that and some other new stuff will be enough for June's board.

Congrats to those that made it.

That sounds a LOT like what JT went through last month...right down to the ASTB scores. He was selected this month on his second go around. Don't give up!

What were your preferences, btw?

Ya I noticed that... Hopefully it works out for me too. Applying for SNA and NFO. This will be my third time applying (in June). I should have done my re-take of the ASTB earlier, but my recruiter thought I wouldn't need it. Not his fault though, the guy has been awesome. He recently got me an interview with a O-6 Naval Aviator that I can include in my package for June's board. Gonna keep on keep'n on...

Interviews are a huge help. I included three of them, all from the aviation community with my package. As long as they give you excellents across the board they can carry a lot of weight. But I was told they can also be a hindrance. If you get a good one, great, if not you dont have to submit it. But they can be a big help. And the higher the rank, the more supportive it can be. Make sure they include their designator (ie: 1390) when they sign it.

Another month, another board missed. There was some mistake in my package, where they didn't see I was prior service so they said I was not qualified due to my age, (I'll be 27 in december) but supposedly they've fixed it and I'll be up next month. It's been a long road, but nothing has changed with what I want to do with my life so I will keep on trying.

Hang in there, bud. It looks like you, plsprorec and I will be on the June boards together. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll remember to ask my recruiter about the designator, and see if it's there next to his signature. The guy is a naval aviator of 23 years and gave me an "outstanding" recommendation, so I'm hoping that and the improved scores will be enough in June. If not, I'll be in the July 15th Selection board thread w/ something else improved in my package...
