OCS 08APR2024 SNA/SNFO BOARD

That's odd because I graduate at the end of June and still got I-SEL'd.

I should also caveat that I did have my school make an official transcript for me specifically so I could submit it to the board.
Interesting. I applied to both and submitted early March and
Interesting but good for you. Maybe there was something missing out of @JRCarl22 application that allowed them to move forward?
yea interesting not sure. I applied to both boards and submitted everything by March 11th. RO said today that they wouldn’t accept me for I-SEL

For those who may be interested, I was initially offered an OCS date of April 15th after my selection a couple days ago. So I'd guess it likely won't be a long wait once selected, even for regular board candidates.

Has anyone seen my wingman?

That’d be hilarious if someone gets selected a couple days after the board and they’re just like “congratulations on your selection, now report in 3 days”

I knew a few people who were selected for SWO and got told they were going to OCS a week or two after, so I wouldn’t put it past them

I think that also happened in the august board, a couple people got sent out like 2 weeks after results came out.

It does happen but it opens the door for a mess of headaches, OR's have several days to notify applicants and with a tight schedule a delay of a few days due OR being on leave, applicant out of town camping/trip out of state, record items issue, etc..... are all things that have happened where the person didn't ship out on time.

4 weeks is the ideal time to make sure there are no issues.

Hello everyone,

I’m currently on active duty applying for this board for SNA. Had my package submitted back in February with no waivers as I was doing ISPP and got the email from Paul saying it was forwarded for consideration. How likely do you think it is I’ll get picked up? All the officers I got appraisals from gave me 10’s, my ASTB was okay for having no flight experience, and my GPA was alright and, turns out CNAL is our flag endorsement. The program authorization makes it sound like I have a good shot and our OCS coordinator, my DIVO, and several others believe I have a good chance. I’ve been reading a lot of these comments the last few weeks and it sounds like this may be a SNFO heavy board and I-Select will take up a lot of slots. Should I start routing my package up again for the next board?

If you submitted ISPP you should be picked up no matter what your ASTB is as you just need to meet the minimums for the program since they normally pick up everyone that meets the requirements. If there is some reason you are not eligible for ISPP you would be moved to the normal selection process.

Yes there will most likely be a high selection for SNFO this board based off of what recruiters have been saying, but in terms of I-Sel I don’t think it will take over 50% of slots but I am curious to see what the statistics will be.

Wait for the results of this board. I’m in the same boat with the scores / ISPP. If you don’t make it this board and have to roll to the next It shouldn’t need any additional routing internal to your command. If it’s finished and your flag officer has endorsed it then it just needs to be resubmitted to NRC.

Appreciate the responses. I know it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get selected this board. It’s just been a fight to get to this point to even get it submitted. Missed the November board because our AMO and MO thought I needed a waiver for not having enough evals (huge eye roll) and their bickering cost me 5 months even though everything was good to go in the end. Ironically, neither of them of them were OCS guys. LDO and ROTC respectively. Fun times but we’re here now.

The program authorization made it sound like it was a guarantee selection but as we know, nothing is guaranteed. I guess my next question would be, if I only put SNA on the application, would they still select me and just give me SNFO or would they just roll me to the next one? I know there was a little confusion with the schedule if this was the last board for FY24 or the first for FY25. If it’s the latter, that would be beneficial to us hoping for SNA slots correct?

It’s cleared up this board is the first for FY25, if you look on the document with all of the boards listed it says Fy25 for this board and recruiters have verified this. This board is picking SNFO for fy24 and SNA for fy25. This would be a good sign since that means sna slots aren’t already completely filled which I assume would be the case if this was a fy24 sna board.
