I just went to NAMI and passed my flight physical. The Marines require it be done before submitting a package. Unlike the Navy where your 1st flight physical is done at OCS from my understanding
Will the Navy board see I am medically qualified to fly and will that increase my chances of getting picked up?
So does the board see any medical waivers that may have been issued? If so, does that harm the chances of being selected?
Best of luck, so far the average wait time has been been a little over 2 weeks these past couple boards for results to come out.Sometimes it’s a few days, other boards have had 30+.
I came back from Japan doing weight 5x per week and running 3x but since Ive been back for 3 months Ive only been able to do short runs (3 miles) and body weight training (recently added weighted vest). I need to cut like 10 lbs. But yeah running, planks, push ups and hella burpess. What have you all been doing to physically prep?
Awesome, I was curious how others were prepping. I’ve been doing CrossFit 4-5 a week. A running program 2x a week. Planks and pushups 3x a week. Really struggling with getting my pushups up to par. If anyone has tips I’d love to hear them.I came back from Japan doing weight 5x per week and running 3x but since Ive been back for 3 months Ive only been able to do short runs (3 miles) and body weight training (recently added weighted vest). And here I was thinking I was doing pretty good with a 1.5 mile runI came back from Japan doing weight 5x per week and running 3x but since Ive been back for 3 months Ive only been able to do short runs (3 miles) and body weight training (recently added weighted vest). When a date is listed on the board schedule it is probable that it will start on that date, but those dates are put out so far in advance that board members might have other obligations at that time which means the start date can move as it has in the past, there is often no notification to anyone except a few people. My recruiter let me know that the board could meet in a month-long window starting tomorrow, not necessarily on July 8th or the 15th as we’ve been hearing. Anyone else hearing something similar? He also said results could have a varied turnaround time. Sometimes it’s a few days, other boards have had 30+.
Excited for these next few weeks, figured I’d post what I’ve heard and hope it alleviates some nerves, as well as compare it to what we’ve been hearing overall. Hopefully we all hear back sooner rather than later fo sho.
Im under the impression that we will be running 3 miles on a regular basis but the PF test is only 1.5 mile. So we should be able to do both. Normally Ill try to work on speed for the 1.5 and stamina for the 3+And here I was thinking I was doing pretty good with a 1.5 mile
That's what I understand too and I've only began running recently so I can only muster 1.5 miles. I appreciate the insight here as always, thank you. Time to hurry up and wait/refresh this thread 5 times a day for the next month lolWhen a date is listed on the board schedule it is probable that it will start on that date, but those dates are put out so far in advance that board members might have other obligations at that time which means the start date can move as it has in the past, there is often no notification to anyone except a few people.
The results do often vary as well, some of this is due to a board not starting as scheduled, some is due to workload of the processors that have a lot of work to do after the selections are made. The board itself only takes like a day, it is all the admin functions that take the rest of the time.
I’ve been doing a lot of HIIT and running, alternating both every other day. Hope it’s enough to prep for the PFT and other drills we’ll be doingWhat have you all been doing to physically prep?
