Phelps does it

JMMH

Ugh.
black guy on the team = Cullen Jones.

Eric Shanteau has cancer and I'm excited to watch him. I would like to see Shanteau win just 1 medal. To me, that's more interesting than MP. Of course, I'll be watching Phelps and cheering him on.

Blonde reporter is a moron. Who even cares what HER name is.

I love watching the obscure crap on the Olympics...12 hours of SDO watch, and now, thanks to the internet, I am an expert on Handball, Badminton, Table Tennis (don't call it Ping-Pong!!!) and the 10M Air Pistol...
Phelps is a freakin' stud, but I would rather watch the women's Beach Volleyball...makes me want to be sand!

The man is a freak. "Fastest kid alive..." :D

Glad this thread started because I've been glued to the TV. The Chinese women gymnasts are NOT 16. That is all. Go USA!

Agreed with that it looks like a few of them are but there are at least 3 that there is no chance in hell they are 16, you look at Shawn Johnson from the American team she actually is 16 and then the girls from the Chinese team, there is no way.

Oh I've looked at Shawn Johnson and her teammates plenty. Don't judge me. :D

Cullen Jones - I haven't met him, but he trains about 20 minutes from my house with Mecklenburg Aquatic Center, and is a friend of my girlfriend's family. Apparently he's a really cool, humble guy. I'm really proud of the way our US teams have represented themselves.

Have you not seen MP's body? It makes me wish all the new-fangled technology would go away and they would go back to the swimwear of Spitz's day.

Without looking at your profile, you're either a girl, or that's the gayest thing that's been said on airwarriors in a long time.

In the swimming races so far, nearly 70% of the gold medal performances have set new world records. Makes me wonder if these fast times are a result of better athletes and training, or a result of technological advances in swimsuit and pool design.

I'm not trying to take away from the accomplishments of Phelps and other gold medal winners, as they are still beating their peers who have access to the same technologies. I guess I'm just figuring out that a world record in swimming really isn't that significant, especially when compared to track and field where most records have stood for a decade or more.

For instance, since the advent of the new gravity-leveled swimming arenas, athletes are no longer required to swim uphill both ways.

C'mon, planes fly with pitot tubes or refueling probes, can't be that bad. Too graphic, maybe but it's worth a shot.:)
