Rolling Boards/ June 2013 Board

I honestly think they should. Why waste a spot for someone who may not be PQ'd for active duty? Just my 2 cents. But anyways Riser I hope it all works out and you make the board.

Thanks Spenz. The only frustrating part is that things were going great up to this point. The last word I got was that it may take me up to a week or two to get this paperwork squared away. Thanks everyone for your concern. Hopefully I can get this into the board in time. If not that's fine too, there are a multitude of options at this point. There is a possibility I could submit a packet to a guard unit in the near future. Thanks and good luck to everyone on their submission.

I've fixed them, now I fly them!
Im active duty and was finishing the medical side of my package, then it came up that I was ADHD back in elementary school. I went through high school and college without symtoms or medication. Now I'm worried and not sure how much this will affect my chances of selection. It's out of my hands now, aside me retrieving the paper work medical asked me to round up. Does anyone know of people getting selected for SNA with this in their history?

This post should be in the DOC'S CORNER forum..."Ask the Flight Surgeon" thread. No one else here is qualified to answer your questions.

Hey just FYI for anyone still wondering, my recruiter told me this morning that the board can check to see if you're PQ'd if they want to so it's best to have it knocked out of the way. Also, he and the divo are unsure (which means prob not) about rolling boards for FY14 but they were doing them at the end of FY13. Take it for what it's worth though. Just thought I'd throw in my $.02 on what I've been hearing.

Well your AD so MEPS knew about your ADHD then don't see why it would affect it now.

I am AD and when I went thru, I had to submit a lot if documentation and do additional test before my PQ, so it's not an 100% guaranteed. But it they're AD navy, they won't go through MEPS.

Ok but MEPS only looks at you for AD only thing they can look for with pilot is vision which can still be overturned with a civilian Dr. You aren't qualified for pilot until a flight physical at OCS then NAMI in Pensacola.

As I noted above, leave that to the experts (Flight MDs), your amateurish speculative aeromedical opinions are hardly helpful.

Then he should have asked it somewhere else. I'm not going to ignore him. Also it's a ONLINE FORUM a lot in here is speculation and opinion.

That's not how it works at all. N3M willl compare your physical with the standards for pilot, or whatever program your applying for, to make sure you meet the program's standards. NAMI has the final say for pilot once your in, but N3M must abide by NAMI's standards when screening applications for aviation. The standards for general commission are much more lenient than any aviation position.

It's an online forum with people who are experienced Naval Aviators and NFOs. As well as many prior enlisted who know how the big blue machine operates. IF you get get selected, I hope that for your sake, you change your attitude before you go.

Which is exactly what I recommended in post #154, just prior to your unsolicited 'diagnosis'.

Speculation and opinions are not helpful... when they involve aircraft accidents and medical non-professional opinions, OUT!
