Rolling Boards/ June 2013 Board

BeLikeMike

Primary!!!
My plan is to submit my package for the July board(June 19th deadline) by the 31st of May, at that time I will have a complete package.

If my package is submitted at the end of May, will it be considered for the June board?

So you are going to be finish with your degree in time? I spoke to the OCS help desk and they said that they are only allowing applicants who are within 30 days of graduation.

Did they let you bring your computer, or are you using one issued there?

No they do not allow you to bring computers. After RLP (week 3) and the beginning of your academic phase you will move rooms that have laptops connected to a military network. You are not authorized to plug any personal devices into the network or thumb drives into the computers. All you will be able to access is your training email address and .mil & .edu websites.

Now depending on your DI and how well your company performs you may get privileges earlier than others! We get to have our cell phones back on the weekends....which is how I am able to get on here. We got them back at the end of week three.

I've fixed them, now I fly them!

Yes, I finish my degree 15 days after the July board. So, I guess that answers my question about the June board.

Does that also go for the NFO's past the age limit for Pilot?

Like what everyone else has said. Navy has strict age limits at 27, the only reason I have seen an age waiver granted is for prior service (as in my case I be 28 in July). But even for prior service you are restricted to 29.

As for the NFOs offered pilot slots here at OCS....they all have to be qualified as per navy regs.

I'm pretty sure this thread was also made for us to post stats, so I had to contribute since my package is just about finished.

Good lookin' numbers/package so far. Polish it up with a couple more solid (people who know you well) LORs, i.e. Coaches, Teachers/Professors, Supervisors etc.. Include any volunteer experience, Boy Scouts, & any other accomplishments which would add "flavor", and help your package stand out among many. Good luck!:)

Dammit. In golf company and we are lucky to get a few hours on the weekend, and we have the drill and RLP streamers. Hah. Anyway, no NFOs on this side were pulled out and asked to go pilot.. In fact we have a bunch of NFOs wanting to go pilot right. I wonder why we haven't heard of this..
