I met some guy this weekend who was an officer on a pilot OCS board once. He said the competition was so tight that they had to resort to looking at people's pictures and they disqualified a guy because his mustache was out of regs.

I didn't submit a picture, but they have my picture on record from the MEPS visit.

Its not required for SNA or SNFO applications, at least not for prior service. I did see it was required for NUKE, however.
