In your opinion, what should I do for running, I can barely run more than 400m [0.25 mi] in one go, which means that I can't even do a successful baseline test
It will only be unsuccessful if you don’t finish. You can walk as much as you’d like, or run as much as you’d like—that’s perfectly fine! I promise you’re not the only person who feels this way.

A baseline is important because it helps you identify your starting point. Once you’ve set that starting line, you can define a finish line. After you cross it, you establish a new finish line, making the previous one your new starting point. It all depends on time.

couchto5k app. I was in a similar boat as you, could barely run .75 miles in one go, did the 8 week program and now can run 3 miles in one go...havent tried farther distances but could likely go further, focusing on getting faster now

Not opposed to the apps I think they’re a great spot to start. However, if you are like me and don’t mind spending a little money. Check out TeamRunRun, you can go on there and look up a running coach that fits your needs, budget and mentor style. It’s a great way to get someone to tailor a routine specific to your goals and needs. I’ve been working with one coach since last September and I could run a mile before, but now I can run 5 miles without sweating and run a 1.5 mile beyond the original goal I had. My original goal was 13:00 (I’m 30 years old) now I can run in under 12:30.

That’s awesome to hear! It sounds like you’ve really found a great coach and made fantastic progress—congrats on exceeding your original goal. I’m all for resources that help people hit their targets. I’m 35, and in my own training plan, 6 WEEK FITNESS IMPROVEMENT PLAN, I went from a 12:46 to a 10:45 1.5-mile run, so I’ve been thrilled with how well it’s working for me. I love hearing about different approaches that motivate people. What is your next goal?

As somebody training for a marathon...

if you're running 5 miles without sweating, you're dehydrated ;)

quick question; When do SWO candidates in OCS find out their BDOC date/location? I assume its after they do ship selection, but do you find out before you graduate?

Not a question, but I figured this would be a good spot to post:

I created a quizlet outlining the knowledge expected upon arrival and during at least the first three weeks of OCS.

OTCNINST 1530.6M APPENDIX B - ROOM LOCKER PERSONNEL INSPECTION REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

I also created a 6-week Fitness Improvement Program designed to improve your PFT scores and to help condition your body for OCS.

6-Week Fitness Improvement Plan

Appendix B quizlet is very helpful thank you. If you can please just correct the Sergeant Major and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps at the very end of the list. They are listed as E-8 when they are E-9. Just to prevent any confusion to anyone using this resource to study. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for pointing out the mistake. The flashcards have been corrected.
