Hello everyone! I am back for this board. I wish all of you the best of luck.

2nd Attempt
Degree: BSB Supply Chain Management
OAR: 49
GPA: 3.13
Dual-Processing: Yes
Occupation: Supplier Operations Specialist for American Honda Motors

A few questions for this board. My friend who is currently in Newport at Supply Corps School said that the Navy is in high demand for more Suppos. Is that still true? Does anyone know how many openings there are for this board? As a civilian, I am unfamiliar to the selection process. Does anyone know how many applicants tend to get picked up per board on average?
Supply is one of the most competitive programs, there is never a high demand, the only high demand program would be nukes.

Dual processing means you take the oath of enlistment and have an official report date at Great Lakes. Its a differentiator for applications and shows the staff at the board that your degree of motivation to join the Navy is strong. Its not a guarantee that the person who dual-processes will get picked up for OCS but I have heard from several individuals that it weighs positively when your application is reviewed. The report date for enlistment is set far beyond the board date and the anticipated time for selection that way it gives the applicant a shot at their OCS attempt. The enlistment contract to my knowledge is nullified and voided if a contract for OCS is tendered to the applicant.

If anyone knows more about the program or sees something that I did not state correctly please correct me because I don't want to relay any incorrect data to the other applicants.

It has been talked about so many times how dual processing is a bad idea, no one cares if you have signed an enlistment contract and really given the pressure on enlisted recruiting if anything it would be more of an incentive to not pick someone that has signed an enlistment contract, but they don't see that info unless it is talked about in the individuals personal statement. It is all about best qualified.

Pretty sure you can back out of your enlistment contract. I have applied 4 times now counting this board. I do not think the dual enlistment helps your package, but it does help you start your journey in the military a lot quicker lol...

you can also apply for ocs while in active duty. normally after you get your warfare device and qualify the required watches your command should support you going officer.

Yes have been looking into this, just not sure how easy it is. Though I would like to start my military career this year, and enlistment might be my only option.

There are options to make officer while being an enlisted sailor. Rising through the ranks you can be an LDO limited duty officer. Once you have a couple years in you can try for OCS. There is the seaman to admiral program, the sta-21 program... There are a bunch of options once you are in to become an officer.

very true, now each has their own hoops, one thing to note is that STA-21 really should be called Nuke-21 as something like 75 of the 100 go to nuke spots.

That's what I heard from my CCC.
I've been in an engineering department and I've seen those guys working hours. man nukes get the shaft. But at the same time they get ALL the money for reenlistment, and they make rank really fast

Im not opposed to entering as enlisted. I think the mustang route makes a great leader. However, I was informed that the dual processing option was quite effective. Two candidates from my recruiting division just got picked up as SWO upon their second attempt and they did not change a single item within their package. I made sure to change several factors so it looked more attractive.

Do you know what their OAR was? Without changing anything I think that would be a big deciding factor. Also how long did they wait? My recruiter has been making me wait a year without significant change...

Heres the 5FEB21 GENOFF Dashboard I found in another thread... A bit more up to date than the one posted earlier in this thread and the numbers are more favorable. It also accounts for the 101 packages at this board that were on the at-board list.
Question is, it says 67 remaining select needed, is that quotas for FY21 and FY22 combined left?
