yep. he wouldn't say how far they dropped, but they are not in the 80+ percentages like we had seen previously.

I mean, if they’re still holding the board it can’t be THAT far a drop, right? I just can’t fathom a drop from, say, 80% to like 20% in one board?

true, but if you have over 300 applicants and pick say, 100, that is still a good number of people. And from what im hearing around the fleet is people are applying for SWO due to the high selection of previous boards.

That, and they recently dropped the OAR requirement and raised the age cut off, so more people became eligible.

Where did you see that? I was still under the impression that the cut off without a waiver for the OAR for priors was 40 and age was 32. Even still, just because they meet the minimums doesn't mean theyre going to be competitive, especially if that info I was given is true. The rest of their package, evals, pfa, LOR, etc., would have to be IMPECABLE.

The age raised from 29 to 32 in June, so of course you'll see a rise in applicants for awhile. As for the OAR score, I thought it had dropped, but 40 is the threshold still.

how in the hell do you fail out due to PFA failures as priors? We know what is expected of us there. Just seems like they didn't prepare at all.
Because typically in navy you have the option to run, swim, bike, treadmill, or elliptical the cardio portion of the prt. The bike is the easiest to pass and people get use to biking it. However commanding officers have the option to limit the cardio portion to just the run or swim. So when people have been biking the prt their whole career and get to ocs their just simply not physically fit for a 1.5 mile run.

The OAR score did drop; I believe it was 45 in the last PA. Mr. Paul and the SWO OCM explained exactly what you're speaking of to me after the November board. The number of applicants may be greater for awhile.

45 was for Civilian applicants and the 40 was for active duty for the OAR. I've been working on my package for about a year now, due to my nuclear release forms, and that was in the PA (Program Authorizations)
