The Great Flight Jacket Thread (wearing/buying Leather, NOMEX, WEP jackets/patches)

Rumor is he ramps up production to fuel his booze habits and the backlog gets pretty deep when he's not working. Honestly, I was not impressed with my TG patches. The name tag leather was dry and caused a shitty looking cracked crease and my squadron patch paint was dry and cracked and had weird un-sewable material at the bottom banner "corners" of the patch.
Saw you were having problems with some of my work. I'd really appreciate if you could send some pics and let me make it right for you.
Cheers

I have already since upgraded my patches. Thanks for reaching out and addressing my criticism!
I get criticized all the time and its welcome and healthy. Problems with product are pretty important to Investigate so they don't repeat.
If you run across that patch or pics of it / them, and get them to me. Ill make you a new set of those or your present command or refund whatever you paid. You can contact me anytime via the website.
If you get something from me and have troubles, I will always make it right but you gotta let me know.
Respectfully

A friend recently gifted me a Polartec fleece vest while I was visiting on the west coast - so far I love the thing, except that it’s slightly on the short side.

Anyone know of a spot (maybe thrift shop?) in the Hampton roads area where I might be able to find a longer one?

Try eBay - although at this point I'm not sure if Long sizes were ever produced. I have an XL Regular and at 6:4", it fits well but could be slightly longer. I wear it in the office and when flying - a bit of an envy item of my AF active duty colleagues! It's a great piece of gear.

I have been a customer of yours, both individually, and while representing a group order since the late 90’s. I even paid a visit to your establishment (and Whitey’s Fish Camp for an awesome lunch) to see where the magic happened. I think your quality and dedication to representing Naval Aviation is noteworthy. I have several of your patches that span a long, and storied career - Thank You.

Side note: I served with a distinguished Naval Aviator in my first P-3 squadron up in Brunswick, Maine who was trying to prevent our Bull from making a wardroom decision based on price, rather than quality. The BULL was causing a big kerrfluffle over our squadron plaque vendor. The quality difference was black & white, and so was the cost. Some things are worth paying for, squadron plaques, leather patches, and good cocktails for your crew. Cheers . . .

Anybody have any recommendations on flag size for the leather jacket? I am between 5x3 (the big one) and 2x3 (standard flight suit size). Just seeing what anecdotally looks good and which is more common. Probably doesn't make a difference, but I am doing a subdued one (blue field, white stars, red stripes, with white stripes being the leather color).

I know it is against the regs technically, but our Skipper had shoulder and squadron patches made, so it wouldn't look complete without the flag.

If there’s one rule that everybody disregards, it’s flags on jackets. Even the chiefs mess, squadron skippers, and the blue angels do it.
Subdued everything for the patches, with the expectation of the wings still being gold looks best IMO.
