^ Reasonable thoughts ... even though I would not vote for her.

For me ... everytime she opens her mouth on policy ... she becomes ... let's just say ... "strident" ... and the resulting sound resembles dragging one's fingernails across the proverbial chalkboard.

It's not that I have a problem with a "woman" in the front office ... remember Golda Mier??? Margaret Thatcher ??? Queen Victoria :)??? All first rate leaders. They could make a list, take names, and kick bad guy ass with the best of 'em ....

Hillary is not of their caliber, however. Not even close ... she is a social activist; a "reformer", always has been, always will be. That's not "leadership". It's agenda ....

The best thing about her election is that Bill would be the new First Lady. Now THAT I could get on board with .... :)

INTRO: For the second time in a year, important
information on United States nuclear weapons is
missing from one of the nation's top secret
laboratories.

I'm not defending Richardson's performance at DoE, but that same kind of stuff has happened and will happen in any number of Navy commands. I understand the argument that the guy in charge is responsible (ultimately I agree with it), but it doesn't necessarily mean the guy (or commanding officer in my example) is inherently inept or unethical. No matter what policies are put in place, sometimes sh!t happens - sometimes it happens two or three times. That said, I find the Wen Ho Lee issue emblematic of a system-wide inadequacy in the vetting of personnel given high level clearances.

The biggest factor that would prevent me from voting for Obama is his support for banning all semi-automatic firearms and otherwise increasing restrictings on purchasing and owning firearms, as indicated by his responses in the 1998 Illinois State Legislative National Political Awareness Test.

Banning semi-autos is not going to happen (anytime soon, at least,) but I couldn't bring myself to vote for someone who would like to make it happen.

The biggest factor that would prevent me from voting for Obama is ...
For me ... Obama's biggest negatives are his legislative history in the Illinois Senate (look it up like I did) , his lack of any meaningful CinC/CEO/leadership experience (my opinion) , his pronouncements leading up to the Iraq invasion (documented-look it up-I'm not doing YOUR work for you), his seemingly socialist leanings (opinion), the fact the MSM has christened him a "rock star" :sleep_125 ... and the recent news that he's George $oro's boy .... unless he loses in the primaries, of course, and then it's back to supporting Hillary for Mr. $oros & CO. :)

I have to agree with Brett, especially when those security leaks have continued at Los Alamos to this day:

Ok hold on. This talk about Obama not getting elected because of his Muslim background? C'mon. I think the vast majority of the American public is beyond thinking that he's going to strap on a suicide belt and blow up the White House once he gets elected.

Maybe, but I think that any Muslim influence is enough to scare people off. Especially if appeasement of Muslim nations is even remotley mentioned in the same sentence as the name Obama.

Funny thing about Hillary: Over the summer I was forced to take a political science course over Presidental politics in the 1990's (Clinton), one of the funny things I learned in the class was that when the staff would do focus groups, the scores would immidiatly drop when Hillary entered. Didn't matter is it was live or on tv, she just had a tendency to rub people the wrong way.

Apparently others thought along the same lines:

Don't think Hilary's camp would actually put something like that out...wonder who did?

damn, I think I see why I like Barack..he lived in Jakarta for a few years...so did I. He's Kenyan heritage...I was born there. He's black...me too. ok so I'm not black. ANyway..I think it's silly to think that Barack, because he has some Muslim background or attended a Muslim school, is going to "appease" Muslim countries. It just doesn't make any sense. If anything, having a president that HAS had some experience in Islam will tone down the level of hatred some Muslims have for the US. This doesn't mean "appeasement", it just means he's going to garner more respect the world over for his broad background and heritage (not to mention his other qualities). Despite the pride I have in the US, I DO think we need to stop making enemies the world over, and start winning allies and taming the hatred that we've created and inflamed the past few years.

OK, OK, I'll ask for an allowance from the wife and throw out some cash (this is like a Fall pledge drive on PBS or NPR:eek:...could I get a tote or CD depending on amount given?). In addition...an extra 30 rides on my bet.
Fair enough, sir?

The only thing extremist Muslims hate more than an infidel is an apostate. Try cracking a book once in a while.

My objection is to candidates seeking to be CEO of America and commander-in chief of our troops that have never been responsible for making payroll, balanced a corporate budget, negotiated a business deal, put on a uniform (any kind of uniform worn by one who serves or defends), etc. I wouldn't ask a guy who watches E.R. every week to be the new CEO of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and I sure as hell wouldn't ask him to make decisions affecting my health.
