03MAR2025 SNA/SNFO Board

My recruiter called to let me know that the board is indeed cancelled and my application is still pending review at the next available board. He said Immediate selection is still open.
Seems like we both missed it by a few days. Guess everyone is waiting until June
My understanding is that since the board has been canceled our applications will all be pushed to the next available selection board ( May ). I’m trying to decide if I want to pull my application and retest to get immediate selection scores or wait for my application to be reviewed in May.
I have been debating that too, but i've already taken the ASTB twice my next score would be with me forever I rather not risk it. Maybe immediate select for SNFO 👀

What are the scores you’re running with now?

OAR 52
AQR 7
PFAR 7
FOFAR 6
GPA 3.25

I would need to bump that FOFAR up to at least a 7 to qualify. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but I think immediate selection is a somewhat of a misnomer? They still review your package and choose the most competitive applicants - just on a rolling basis.

For that reason I’ll be studying to get 8’s and 9’s rather than the minimum scores.

Yea that’s a tough call. I’ve only taken it once so not as much pressure.

Looks like I got selected! Not sure how, just got an email from my recruiting office asking me to accept the selection offer with an ocs class date of August 10th 2025. I was accepted for ISEL, but I am not finished my degree yet so not sure how that works, however my degree will be finished by June so maybe that’s why. Haven’t gotten an actual phone call so i’m not sure about details.

Congrats man that’s awesome! Looks like ISEL is probably the way to go. What were your scores?

Gotcha, not bad scores, im at 56,6,7,7 and im submitting with that. Was told by some active duty pilots that that was competitive. If i don’t get picked up I’ll just deploy with my unit in June rather than get orders to OCS and apply again.

Bro I keep hearing that scores like this are competitive but only i-sel scores have been getting picked up. Its like what the hell is really competitive then ? I've had a 52,6,6,7 on file since November board and still havne't gotten picked up. Granted my GPA is on the lower side @ 2.8 but ive seen people worst than this get picked up in previous boards.

Are you active or civilian? I think they have to hit certain quotas for different applicants so what’s competitive may vary. Im not entirely sure though.

I-SEL means exactly what it sounds like. If you meet the program requirements, you get selected. It’s not just GPA and ASTB that matter. The requirements are outlined in the PA.

Ah interesting, I'm in the same situation as you where I have immediate select numbers but am finishing up my degree in June, and was applying for the March board. My recruiter however says I can not do I-SEL as I need to be within 60 days of shipping. Do you know if your recruiter put you up for I-SEL? Or maybe they somehow just moved you from the regular board pile to I-SEL after canceling the board?

Hmm. My recruiter made it seem like there was a chance I wouldn’t get selected even if I met the immediate selection criteria.

You’re saying if I have the triple 7’s, above a 3.0 GPA, and no required waivers… I’m in - no questions asked?

I think like others have said this board is only selecting for ISEL, it sounds like anyone who applied otherwise did not get picked up. It is very strange though because I was only offered ISEL for NFO my recruiter didn't seem to think ISEL for pilot was open and I have not finished my degree yet so I didn't think I was eligible anyway.
