What is everyone's plan for preparing to go? I know they enjoy running and other calisthenics. That and ready up on the OSR so you'll have some basic info down pat before they beging making you drink from a firehouse with a ton of other info

My plan is to focus on fitness, study everything I can, and get my affairs in order before I go so my wife will have an easy time while I'm gone.

BROOOO ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT SELECTED FOR SNFO!!!! Quick back story...I was on the MAY board last year and didn't get selected and a year later here I am with a PRO-REC-Y!!!! Also, I was selected for SWO and almost left Jun 19th 2022!!! I am so glad I asked for an extension because this would've never happened! I just want to thank GOD! It has been one crappy year since not getting selected last year! If you didn't get selected keep on grinding and keep praying!!!

Yeah we are gonna have to start dropping some study material for the group. I’m not worried about PT I’m only concerned with getting up to speed on knowledge

Probably cause instructors get time off. Doubt they’ll let everyone fly home but you’ll prob be left alone lol.

I was there during Christmas, and there was a stand down, meaning training stopped for about two weeks or so, and people were allowed to take leave if they wanted. During this time, if you stayed in Newport, you still had watch and duty every three days, and we were not allowed to leave base (granted this could be different for you since you’ll have a different CO, but don’t quote me on that). However, if you’re in Candio phase, depending on your billet, it might get in the way of your leave plans if any. Instructors are off yes, but there’s still always a CDO around ready to yell at you if you’re being an idiot
