25JAN21 PILOT/NFO BOARD

There’s no way they’d have 3 remaining boards of about 150-200 applicants and only choose 33 for each. Wouldn’t that be a waste of their time? I feel like we might be missing a piece of the puzzle somewhere.

- It’s possible they’d do such a thing, but one would think they’d be more strict on the applications they take if so. I think (and am hoping) the FY22 theory is correct in that the numbers aren’t reflecting and only FY21 select numbers are. I’m being optimistic over here and am hoping for good news for everyone ??

I agree that there has to be something that we're missing. I feel the indications are all in the Notes section, to which they probably haven't updated. I'd have to dig a bit for previous board dates but isn't the first board of the new year typically for the current FY and after? I find it hard to imagine that they would review 154 applicants only to select such a low number of SNA -- that number has to be for FY21 only and the remaining chosen applicants are pushed to the FY22 (which isn't recorded on GENOFF and exists with the mystical world of Azeroth). It just doesn't make any sense, logistically and time-wise for them to review such a large number of applicants, only to discard close to 80% of applicants.

Sigh, these fk fck games are annoying xD

well it's more the fact that they haven't left many spots open for the last board of the FY, looks like November picked up ~30.

You’d think they’d try to prevent front loading so much. Granted COVID probably didn’t help with back log, but if that’s the case then chances of getting picked up would be highest at the beginning of the fiscal year and decrease as the year goes on. Then decreasing the likelihood of choosing the best possible candidates overall. Don’t you think?

Based on past experience with board selection rates I would agree, even if great candidates are passed over as time goes on in the FY. The best chance to get picked up are the first split FY board (May) and the following board (Aug). They both seem to have high selection rates due to a large quota to fill. The two remaining boards for the FY (Oct and Jan) tend to get the scraps for quota's it seems.

so by split FY board you mean the ones listed as FY21/FY22 on the schedule? In that case maybe March won't be so bad for IWC after all since it is a split FY board; it'll just mean majority of selects will be slotted for FY22 (or beyond...)
Exactly. They're trying to finish off the previous year and also start selecting quota's from a new FY. If they over select on the first or second board they can slow up a bit. But based on the rumor of over-selection from October, it just screws over the 4th board for that FY and selections are minimal. People pushed to Apr/May should count that as a small blessing as the overall quota's may be higher if they start selecting FY22 for that board.

Whoever used the analogy of high school love and desperation is exactly how I feel right about now ? justifying their actions and on an emotional roller coaster of “they love me, they love me not”

- the GREAT news is May is the next board ?

Right! The sooner results come out the better it helps everyone.
I did apply with a 5/7/5 on this board. My recruiter never said I had a waiver, but could they have done that for me without telling me?
If you applied with that and no waiver for NFO, either they didn't put you in for NFO, or they requested a NFO waiver and submitted without your knowledge of a waiver. That is, assuming you applied for both per the text message image you posted last week.

That's a good start, it sucks that the at board list doesn't at least show at a minimum, designators that were applied for.
