Hi, folks.

My recruiter played a surprising trick on me. He submitted my package late the last board and I just got word I was selected for pilot. I will go in and remove myself from this board's spreadsheet once I have myself added to the November one.

I am still rooting for you all!!
THATS AWESOME!

Alright everyone, be prepared to wait 5-6 weeks after the board convenes. The last two boards had to wait around that time period to get results, but at least it’s somewhat consistent.

Hi guys, apparently a similar thing happened to me! I was also slipped into the November board and I just got a call that I was selected today, with a tentative ship date of August 15th. Good luck to all of you guys and girls in here; hope to see you all one day!
Happy for you that is awesome!

Looks like I will be missing this board. Started talking to my recruiter 3 weeks ago and I’m gonna barely miss the cutoff due to MEPS dragging their feet to get me in. My OR has been awesome, almost got me street to seat in a calendar month. ASTB was 61 7/7/8. BBA in Econ 3.73 and MBA with 3.77. Prior service Navy AT3 currently 27 y/o. I’m going to be really interested in what the new demand is for pilots with this whole covid monkey wrench. My OR got the same email y’all’s have about FY quotas already being maxed out. I would feel confident in my overall package on a normal board but it kind of seems like the number of seats they’re looking to fill might be lower for a while. If anyone gets better word on the situation please do pass it along.

I wouldn’t get too worried about speculation as far as classes being effected. Every recruiter is saying something different about this board and having looked through the past board threads gossip is involved in every board. Wait for official word would be my best advice. It’s not like they would deny every single SNA application, at the worse they would push everyone back to another board. I wouldn’t worry.

That’s kind of my thinking here too. I’m in this for the long haul, I’m not looking for a quick way to get fight school paid for so I can get a gig with the majors on the back end, I want to be a naval aviator for a living and if I have to wait a year plus to get my shot then that’s what I have to do.

@exNavyOffRec I remember earlier in this forum you mentioned how accessions are based on fiscal year but selections were not. So, for people who got selected in the October board, who found out yesterday, whose dates are for the most part from July to September, you mentioned those are FY22 dates....so that kind of coincides with what the Aviation OCM said, telling me that all the spots for FY21 were taken already, thats why the new selectees go those dates right? ....that being said, for the next board in January, all of us who could and would get selected for FY22 as well....meaning selection numbers could stay roughly the same? am I right with this assumption? any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

There is another variable, the hard goals don't normally come out until late Dec to Jan sometime, up until that point they will select up to a certain percent of last years goal, that is why selection boards had no advantage in fall, spring, etc.... of course with COVID and OCS spots being reduced, then increased, then reduced, who knows how this will all play out. It could be what you are thinking is spot on, or people could get lucky if everything goes the right way.
