Couple of quick questions since my CCC is TAD for the next 2 weeks... My package has been bottom lined by the CO, however, in his statement he did not put a date available for transfer (the blurb above his signature states it should be included) is this really necessary? My second question is, on the Tatoo/ Body piercing screening, does the CO have to bottom line it? My chief signed under "recruiter".

Yes and Yes.

I got the missing signatures of my packet done and emailed and snail mailed it off today. Received the dreaded medical letter. The HM failed to enter my vitals on the 2808 and the doc missed to items on the physical. I also need to see an ENT for additional information due to my medical history, unfortunately he is out of town until next week and no open appointments with the one familiar with my situation until the 23rd. Looks like my packet will be in limbo for a while...

Who gave you the feedback on your physical information? Also, how come you didn't email your app?

I got a reply from Ted Williams today that my application has been processed for board review. I'm hoping this means that all my documents were good to go.

I did email it, but I sent a hard copy with original documents (I read somewhere about original transcripts were required) also. Ted Williams replied letting me know it was received and that Accessions medical staff was reviewing my medical documents. I then received a letter from a CAPT Reynolds stating that a courtesy medical risk assessment could not be completed due to the missing information.

Interesting. I hope you get everything lined up in time for the next board. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's no issue with my app. I didn't mail any original copies. I just had my admin certify my transcripts to be true copies.

Anyone know anything about USMC aviator selection boards? Are there any coming up? I'm looking at reapplying for the next USN board and also thinking it might be a good idea to apply to the USMC.

I did the same, and had no issues.

The only thing that sucked about this is that the copies came out kind of crappy. You know how most colleges have those transcrips that say "COPY" all over them when you scan or copy them? Yea. Mine didn't turn out looking so well. I'm just glad that they were legible at least. I had to turn the scan quality down a bit to help with the file size. My overall kit was 80 pages and thats not including my medical documents.

Make sure you want to be a Marine. After OCS you have six months of TBS before coming to Pensacola. Also during flight school they get one shot (i.e. Fail one exam and they could be done). That happens your going to be redes'd to the ground.

I wouldn't worry too much about the quality, one of my letters of rec looked pretty awful with a thick, solid gray line through the middle. I debated leaving it out all together, but I managed to tweak the scan quality to make it bearable on the audience. On top of that, my latest eval (since it was brand new) hadn't been branded as an "official copy" so my admin dept. had me stamp it in with a typewriter.

Another thing to take note of is when you sign the paperwork to put in your application, you are stating you will attend Marine OCS, if selected. The Marines want you to commit to going before you find out if you are accepted.

Yes but there is no "teeth" in it, basically unless you are receiving compensation (money), you can walk away at any time, no matter what service you are signing up for.

The OSO I chatted with a few months back definitely made it sound like you couldn't. That's good information to know, thanks NavyOffRec.

Ya that really doesn't matter though.
