Has anyone seen my wingman?
One thing I’m curious about is how they determine prorec Y/N. Officially, they say they weight the person as a whole- ASTB, GPA, LORs, motivational statement, college major, etc. But it keeps on being repeated that they really only consider your ASTB and GPA. Yet, I see candidates who were turned down with outstanding ASTB/GPA, no non-medical waivers, and such. Is there something I’m missing here?

This has been asked and answered multiple times. In short, ASTB and OAR remain the key metric.

I asked this same question a handful of weeks ago, bc I was also very confused seeing someone with a 9/9/9 getting rejected. Albeit this isn’t official, but the general response I got was that these people could have had issues with their clearance, other waivers not mentioned, misreported scores, packet got pushed back and then they missed the board, and a whole other range of possibilities. While I still have questions I suppose there are a lot of niche boxes which need to be checked that these people could be missing, even something as small as a disqualifying tattoo is possible.

Thank you. Sorry I should’ve been more specific. Why would someone with great metrics like that get turned away?

That is true. Thanks to you both for the quick responses. I just need to stop looking over the excel sheet hahahaha

Yea but i dont see many other 5 AQR on the list
Don’t stress over it and let it eat you up, there were a couple guys that had 5s for aqr that got picked up last board for sna with a lower PFAR than you. As stated earlier in this thread, that 8 PFAR will say a lot for you.

( also I’ve seen a good amount of people in the astb prep thread that have posted their scores for this board but haven’t put their data into the excel file so don’t stress over the excel list)

While the spreadsheet is a nice reference, it makes up a small portion of the total applicants. Also, most people with 5 AQRs don't have 8 PFARs. I'm willing to bet if you look at 8 PFARs, you'll see quite a few on the list. Try not to stress too much, and hope for the best. You can always apply again if things don't go your way this time.

I feel you there. I've been loading it up at least once every other day for about a month and a half now. Finally told myself to stop comparing myself with everyone else on there lol.

How could i apply again? My recruiter told me my test scores could only be sent to 1 board, unless something changes (i retake the test or get my ppl or something). But I've already used 2/3 tests. Is this true? Or could i apply to the June board with the same scores?

You can only take the test 3 times. But I believe you can apply as many times as you want- you just have to have something different in each package. Could be different test scores, motivational statement, LOR, etc

Not correct, there is a wait between boards if you don't retake, but if your scores are good don't retake.

There is also no limit to how many times you can apply.
