Certain of his books make some excellent points. And his first book did a good job of emphasizing the need for financial education among people. BUT, there is also a lot of crap in them as well. For example, the original book could have been condensed into an essay basically, not a whole book. I have never heard of any stolen valor accusations against him though...?He's a snake oil salesman. His "Rich dad, Poor dad" books were craptastulic bullshit. He sells get rich quick schemes.
He made his money selling books and getting people to sign up for his seminars. He was never a real estate tycoon. Kind of like someone else I know who set up a real estate university.Certain of his books make some excellent points. Several years ago a veteran I knew said it would be a good book to read, I hadn't heard of this guy so I read the book, then this veteran I knew tried to get me to start selling Amway. That was a hard pass and a few hours I will never get back. He's a snake oil salesman. His "Rich dad, Poor dad" books were craptastulic bullshit. He sells get rich quick schemes.
Yes, that is true. He made his money selling books and courses on how to make money. He and the other guy you mention also "co-wrote" a book togetherHe made his money selling books and getting people to sign up for his seminars. He was never a real estate tycoon. Kind of like someone else I know who set up a real estate university.
His books made their rounds through multiple ready rooms. Despite no objective evidence that he made bank on real estate, he told fairy tales of how to get rich on it.Several years ago a veteran I knew said it would be a good book to read, I hadn't heard of this guy so I read the book, then this veteran I knew tried to get me to start selling Amway. Haha..I knew a dude that was a little bit senior to me that was flnagled into a weekend road trip to Vegas from SD....He realized about an hour into the trip that they (1 winged aviator and his buddy) were selling Amway.Several years ago a veteran I knew said it would be a good book to read, I hadn't heard of this guy so I read the book, then this veteran I knew tried to get me to start selling Amway. Things I avoid 1) Amway presentations 2) Timeshare presentations.Haha..I knew a dude that was a little bit senior to me that was flnagled into a weekend road trip to Vegas from SD....He realized about an hour into the trip that they (1 winged aviator and his buddy) were selling Amway.
I think this describes the definition of purgatory/hell. 🙂
I guess since we're doing this, I'd add that as an O-1 don't agree to meet with a retired O-4/5 'financial advisor' in P'Cola trying to sell you whole life insurance. There were sharks there that somehow managed to get their hands on PII from the A-Pool.Things I avoid 1) Amway presentations 2) Timeshare presentations.
Is Randy Cunningham the gold standard? All this talk of Naval Aviators grifting made me think of our old pal, and God's gift to fighter pilots everywhere, Ed Rush, and I wondered what he had been up to. Turns out, his website details an "exploratory committee" to run for President in 2024, with a big red DONATE button. Hilariously predictable... that mindset is a form of mental illness, in my constitutionally protected non-expert opinion.![]()
I'm dying laughing. I understand the need to make a living...but goddam...how the fuck do you look yourself in the mirror? It's embarrassing. All this talk of Naval Aviators grifting made me think of our old pal, and God's gift to fighter pilots everywhere, Ed Rush, and I wondered what he had been up to. Brett, sometimes the tree of AW needs to be refreshed with the tales of Ed Rush. All this talk of Naval Aviators grifting made me think of our old pal, and God's gift to fighter pilots everywhere, Ed Rush, and I wondered what he had been up to. I actually talked to the guy on the phone circa 2006 when he was sending threatening legal-sounding cease and desist emails to Websan about how we were all slandering his good reputation. Absolute tool.I'm dying laughing. I understand the need to make a living...but goddam...how the fuck do you look yourself in the mirror? It's embarrassing.
Edit: I'd totally forgot the Ed Rush phenomenon. Thanks for reminding me.
